Hello Everyone,

I have a question about the I-134 Affidavit of Support. My wife is a U.S. Citizen, I am a U.K. Citizen. It is our understanding that, even though my Wife in un-employed at the moment, (due to a back injury) that she will still be required to fill out an Affidavit of Support, Even though she has no form of income at this time.

1) Is this true?

We are working on finding someone to be a Co-Sponsor. This IS proving to be a very difficult task! To say the least!!!

2)What are the implications if a Co-Sponsor is not found? Do we have ANY other options? PLEASE HELP???!?!?!?!????

Thanks SO MUCH to EVERYONE who has helped out on this website! We would not know ANYTHING without it!!!! It's GREAT!!!

If the USC is unemployed and you cannot find a cosponsor and do not have adequate assets you will need to wait to get the visa until assets/income is adequate.

JSPink,

Your wife will not necessarily have to fill out an I-134 and provide other financial documentation if she cannot qualify to be your sponsor. Several people applying for K visas in the UK have found out that all they needed was the financial documentation for the person who did qualify. (Still, you might want to be prepared with her information as there is no assurance that her information will not be asked for.)

How is your financial condition? Perhaps you won't need a financial sponsor for your visa.

Your wife will be required to be your sponsor for your adjustment of status or immigrant visa, whichever route you subsequently follow to obtain LPR status.
