I just want to share my experience during the infopass appointment yesterday.

Well... I haven't got my EAD after 90 days and so I made an infopass appointment and went to the local office at San Francisco yesterday. But I was told that according to the new law, the local office can no longer issue any interim EAD...

Then the staff was nice and she said since we drove from San Jose to San Francisco, she offered to try to help me see what status of my AOS is. After a while, she told me our interview got rescheduled but they don't know the date yet. She also said that she can't talk to the officer who's responsible for my case, so that's all she knows.

So at last the staff just emailed the main office and informed them that our case has been over 90 days. Actually she asked them to send me the EAD to the correct address asap. Then she just said 'good luck' to me...

So now I can't really do anything but wait. :(

Well since I saw a few posts about 'No touching' of their case on the USCIS website, I also want to tell you here that my case has only touched once so far. and that's when they cancelled my AOS interview more than a month ago! Mind you... there's not even one single update of my case too. It still shows that they've received our case on July 21. So?

We were told the same thing after my husband made an infopass for EAD at NYC office. We called the miss-info line today and they advised us to go to another dis office in NY, the closest is Garden City. We have made an infopass for Nov 2nd, I will update you on the case.

Hi Khan,

I hope to hear your good news soon! :)

Oh yes, I just checked the USCIS website, my I-765 case, after going to the infopass appointment, has finally been 'touched'. Hope I can get some good news too. But I think I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

Yes, info-pass did work for me as well, my EAD got toched yesterday and today. The supervisor at NYC office told me that she will email the Missouri office who had my EAD case to expedite the process. Seems like they are working on it.

EAD: went through the same situation. Had infopass appointment, the officer sent out an inquiry. That was it. A couple of days afterwards it was approved (also after a couple of touches).

AOS: no touches since after the Biometrics were taken. That was back in June. When I ask the officer at the infopass in September she just looked at me with big eyes and said, well, you have just applied in June. Meaning: Silly you, what kind of question are you asking me. you have to wait a bit longer on that. :(

I don't know how much longer I have to wait. So far, processing times for Cleveland are April 16th. I guess, until this is not June 7th, I cannot do anything.

I keep my fingers crossed for your EADs.

Bjumanja ,

I'm not sure about my case. My EAD application was touched once the day before, but not today. I hope I'd be approved soon. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

I just looked at your timeline... I found that you had waited for nearly 4 months to get your EAD. And I guess you might have to wait longer if you didn't make the infopass appointment. Oh well... at least you got it eventually.

About AOS, I don't trust those processing timelines. Don't you see many people got approved after a few months here? So I don't really know how they set those timelines. And you know what, I was actually scheduled an interview after 1.5 months of my application. If according to their 'accurate' timeline, the SF office should still be processing the cases back in April now. Then how come they scheduled an interview for me (if you read my timeline, I sent in my application in July)?

Well I just think that it's ridiculous. And even worse, they cancelled my interview at the end of Sept.

Anyways, good luck to those of us who're still waiting!

Shan 555,

We got an official cancellation of the AOS interview (we only had the letter but no email). But still we wondered whether it's true or not. So we did call the USCIS hotline and they told us our interview was cancelled too. And then we actually asked again during the infopass appointment and they also said that our interview will be reschduled (but no idea when and why)...

So I'd suggest you to call the USCIS hotline to confirm that too. But to be on the safe side, it's better if you also schedule an infopass appointment to ask what's going on.

Good luck!

Hi Traditions Way,

You just have to go to book the appointment on the USCIS website, and yes I think your local office should be the one at Detroit. And then you can book any date/time on the website. I belive you can go there by yourself, just remember to take the appointment letter with you. Also you're not allowed to take the mobile phones with camera inside, so you better leave it in your car before you go inside.

About the waiting time, it depends really. So I can't tell you. I heard that some offices are faster than the others.

So good luck!
