you know noone is buying your BS right?

eat all the cake you want. power pollutes-end of story.

ok hot rodder...can you tell me what SSBB means when talking about an engine?

What exactly are you SMOKEing over there

You're so still stuck back in high school. SSBB? I don't know what that means. What do I win Einstein?

Of course power pollutes. I never said power didn't pollute, I said you can still be a hot rodder and still respect the environment by not changing your oil willy nilly like a nimrod. At least coem up with a reasonabel reason why you've never sent your oil in for testing instead of thumping your chest in your ignorance.

Super Smash Bros Brawl?

Works for me

It came back with a lot of information, including a driver profile, whether or not the transmission was being shifted at the proper speeds, or the engine was idled excessively. But, the bottom line was whether or not the oil needed to be changed.

Excellent.

Just curious what was the turn around time for the test result in the military?

you'd lose a bet. unless you're talking about a trailered 1/4 mile car, you don't need over 42lb injectors. if you use larger you'll need to dump a fortune into the heads & throttle body to match the increased fuel or you're just drowning the engine.

what kinda dumbass is going to take his oil to a lab?...oh wait nevermind we know

I guess the whole untied states military are a bunch of Dumbasses

Changing the oil in your vehicle every 3k miles is probably the most important preventive maintenance you can do. Keeping your oil clean and it's viscosity constant will cut down on engine wear and costly repairs. It will also help to prolong the life of your engine gaskets such as valve covers and oil pans, if the oil isn't broken down over time it won't eat away at your gaskets. You getting better gas mileage and also don't need to pay for any of the synthetic oil, by changing it every 3k miles. There is no fleecing going on there, it's absolutely true.

I have changed the oil faithfully every 3k miles in every vehicle I have ever owned and I have never had any major engine problems in any of them.

Check in the mail, I won't******,, I am from the government and I am here to help,, You must change your oil every 3K miles.

You do realize the people that own that site sell fuel additives and are pimping for the companies that buy from them.

Ditto.

Perosonally I would never buy a US-made car. Every US made car I have ever had or ever ridden in has been a POS. It just makes no sense to buy a US made car. I also rarely buy electronics made in the US. Key word... rarely.

Regardless, I'll stick with Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, Mercedes, and BMW. I really don't care how much gas costs. I only drive about 1,000 miles/month anyhow.

Ha! You do realize that Hondas and Toyotas are being made in the USA. I think BMW's may be as well. But you are fooling yourself if you think that lessons you learned 20-30 years ago about quality of cars by brand name still apply today. I have Ford, Chrysler, and GM products in my driveway, no problems with any of them!

Don't remember, but they actually have labs in Afghanistan, etc, to make that turn around as quick as possible. They run generators that would require oil changes every 150 hours at 50 gals per oil change, so if they can't make the turn around fast enough, that would cost the Army (and other services) a fortune in engine oil that cannot be had locally. They were looking for bids on an easy to use test kit that could be used by the mechanics themselves, with having to send to a lab every time.

nothing at the moment. ask me again in about 20 minutes & you might get a different answer.

every gearhead on the planet knows SSBB is slang for the 4 strokes of an internal combustion engine. it means Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow. you might know the strokes as intake, compression, combustion, & exhaust. i'd give you the poster most fullofshit on VJ award for today. you've earned it. ;)

so an enviromentalist is concerned about the oil that gets recycled & not about the unrestricted emissions on a street rod or the fossil fuels being burned at an excessive rate for pure entertainment. gotcha now i understand. how about i come up with a reasonable reason for not having a lab test used oil instead? if your oil is black & gritty to the touch on the dipstick, it needs to be changed. continuing to use a lubricant loaded with dirt & abrassives on machined surfaces with minimal clearance between them or actually touching each other is pure ignorance.

do you remember earlier when you called yourself a dumbass? i agree with you now.

idk about the untied states military. but, the united states military's entrance exam, the armed services vocational aptitude battery (asvab) requires someone to be a tick past retarded to pass. our military brass is known for buying $50 claw hammers & $100 toilet seats...so you tell me herschel. is our military full of the best & brightest?

no. just one former member that accused me of doing it. did i say anything that wasn't true?

Well, yeah! It's Congress that appropriates that money for that #######, and military contractors that have to spec everything, rather than just buy it off the shelf.

And, unless you want to be a welder, or a cook, it takes a little more than what you are describing to qualify for the military.

so, i didn't say anything that wasn't true. i stated a couple facts & asked him to answer his question himself. now i'll ask you the same question. 3 actually. is our military full of the best & brightest?...before you answer or get offended. notice the word full and think about some of the people you met while in the service. did they all fit in the 'best & brightest' category? how many out of the not bunch were ranked higher than yourself?

The folks in the service are a fairly good cross section of America, minus the drop-outs. I was National Guard a little over eight years, half of that as an officer, so it was a part time job for me in between service schools and periods of active duty. 10% of the folks caused 90% of my problems. That is a better ratio than in the real world, where their parents never raised them right. I did have a problem with the quality of the junior officers in the RA, mainly because they had no time in service before they got their commissions. They were a little slow in adapting to the situation on the ground, and their NCO's were too young and too scared to tell them any better, unlike my NCO's. By the time they hit Captain, they generally had their ####### together.
