Hi All,

I recently received the notice of the I485 interview on Oct.10. Getting really nervous now. So I am trying to prepare as much as possible material cuz I heard some interviews could go crazy:(((

Have some quick questions for now.

1. Since I received my EAD 2 weeks ago and its confirmed that I will go back to my old company. So shall I bring my employment letter and tax return stuff (from last year when I was working under F1 OPT) to the interview too? I didnt submit any of my income source when I filed all the docs concurrently.

2. Does my husband have to bring the original citizenship paper? Can we just bring the copy and passport?

Im also looking into interview questions. Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions

I don't think you need to bring your income information, since you didn't use any of it to qualify on the I-864.

I'd bring the original citizenship document and a copy. Give them the copy, but have the original tucked away somewhere in case they ask to see it. They won't keep it.

Why would you bring your tax return to the interview? Unless your income was included on the I-864 form. Bring originals and copies of documents to the interview. Sometimes they want to verify documents so original of marriage certificate, citizenship, birth certificate etc are good to have with you unless already submitted

Thank you all!

Have a serious question about my husband's job now. He was planning to quit a while ago but because of my pending status, we decided to wait. However, the situation is getting worse at the company, even I know its not a smart decision to quit now. Please help me to figure out some solutions. I have read some other posts that everybody suggests that in this kind of situation, we should just wait until the interview.

My question is my husband still has freelance jobs, but i dont know how to prove the income source from freelance?

Or as long as we can provide an employment letter, it should be fine at the interview? Do they ask a lot of questions about the job? How can USCIS track if he recently change the job?

I can still bring the original employment letter signed by June ( that was when we sent out the file) to the interview this Oct? Or do we need a newly dated letter?

You don't need to bring all of that stuff to the interview. They already have it. Simply bring any further proof of your relationship, like photos or any financial documents that have both of your name on it (bank account, insurance, lease, mortgage, etc)

The interview letter I received said to bring a letter from my employer stating rate of pay, hours, etc. The interviewer didn't ask to see it, but he did ask me if I was still employed there. If they ask you, you better not lie.

Your husband should stick it out until after the interview. This is one of the most important things you'll ever do in your lives. Unless of course, you can still qualify without his employment income. Then you can do a new I-864 and be prepared to present it at the interview. Or else, find a co-sponsor.

Personally, I'd stick it out at a job for a few months, no matter how much I hated it, so we wouldn't have problems at the interview.

Is it the same one you sent in with your applications? If so i think that's fine. It was the one issued by the city clerk?
