Well, Papa was DENIED based on there was not sufficient proof that this is a bonafide relationship...lol!!! What a joke. I have been to Jamaica 8 times in less than a year. I was pregnant and miscarried. We have 100's of photos. His mom just left from visiting me. Western Union receipts. A year's worth of yahoo messages and over $1000 in phone bills. But I love him...no turning back!!!

I wont take this as a negative...He admitted to using as Ive said before. And I believe that everything happens for a reason. I made the trips because I love him and didnt want to be apart from him. I just reviewed phone calls from August 15 to the present and he has called me 109 times...hardly sounds one way. He is limited as to what he can do. But I'm not asking you to understand. All I know is that I love him and I believe in his love for me...So we will take this year to grow together...whatever GOD'S will...then let it be done.

Yes everything happens for a reason. This denial could give you a year to strengthen your relationship or at the end of one year you're dating someone new. All I'm saying is this is a chance to be level headed with your current relationship considering that it's pretty new and it started at a time when you were still emotional from a preivous relationship....I'm not saying you shouldn't visit your love I'm just saying as an outsider (or CO) you may look desperate condidering that you've only been dating for a year and visited 8 times already. Anyway you looking at your own relationship right know equals a very biased or corrupted view. Have someone else objective do that.

I am booked, packed and will be with him on Thursday. How will getting married help? I know we have to wait for the year ban to be up but can we file before the ban is up?

Marrying him if he continues to smoke weed and there is still hardly any evidence of a bonafide relationship will get you a big fat DENIAL. Beside the obvious in regards to the smoking you need to overcome the doubt in the CO'S mind that your fiance only wants you for a green card. The is where 'you looking at your own relationship right know equals a very biased or corrupted view' comes in handy again because you will end up doing the same things, making the same mistakes and getting the same results and a second denial which would be catastrophic. Maybe it would be good for the both of you to visit another Caribbean island (no visa needed most places) so it seems more 50/50 on both your parts. How about him mailing you a birthday, valentine's, congratulations or love cards? Has any of your family members joined you on a trip to Ja (evidenced by pictures) to look for your fiance?

You are a sweeter person than I am, if my fiance fails his medical over something like this I dont I could be this calm and collected. I would flip out on him and not speak to him for a while till I cooled off. I didnt follow your other post about smoking weed, but I see that he admitted it... Why? Or did he know he was going to fail regardless? In the future I wouldnt be showing money transactions. Sorry about your news. Im glad you are fortunate enough to go see him frequently.

Seriously, I would go with getting married in Jamaica & see if you have better luck. If he's not doing drugs, that will be out of his system in the year. Re-apply, but I might hold off on the Western Union receipts too. I've just heard too many negative things from that. If you're committed to this, just make it happen! Might want to go with next interview...? Not sure how Jamaica works.

Wow, I’m so sorry to hear that. I don’t even know what to say. You definitely have more evidence than I did. Did you submit all of that as evidence for the interview? That seems like more than enough as sufficient evidence. Maybe it had more to do with the interview than the actual evidence. Or maybe the outcome was based on the presence of marijuana found in his system, but just tagged another denial to it. I don’t understand what these officers look for when interviewing people in terms of evidence. They seem to approve and deny people with the same type of evidence. Good luck to you. I hope it goes better the 2nd time around. Stay strong and keep gathering your solid evidence.

Sorry to hear about the denial.

If I were you, and if this is possible for you, can you move to Jamaica to be with him during the one year ban? Of course, if it's not possible, that's totally understandable but if you have the necessary means, you could go there for one year and wait out the ban with him... just in case they want to tell you again that your relationship is not bonafide. Plus you'd get to spend all that extra time with him that you will miss because of the ban.

Just my two cents!

Forgive my ignorance, and I'm being quite serious, is smoking marijuana illegal in Jamaica?

What I'm getting at is I don't understand how it's possible to prohibit someone from immigrating for doing something that's illegal (unless someone is a medical marijuana patient in some states) in the US, but is legal in the immigrant's country.

Just my grrrrrrrr.

Marijuana is NOT legal in Jamaica. Its just that people smoke it and not get caught because nobody is wasting time looking for people smoking weed.
