Hi all,

So I'm hoping for some tips on how to get a Tourist visa APPROVED in our situation!

My husband is Bolivian, I am a U.S. Citizen. We both live in Bolivia. I (almost) have Bolivian citizenship.

We applied for a tourist visa in January of 2009 and it was denied because he didn't have strong enough ties.

We applied again in August of 2011 and it was denied for the same reason.

We became engaged and applied for a K-1 Fiance Visa and it was approved. We came to the United States about 3 weeks ago and got married. However we've decided not to live here and are going back to Bolivia in 3 weeks.

We don't particularly want to live in the United States - we're content to live in Bolivia. But we want to be able to visit the United States to see my parents and family.

So we're going to try for another tourist visa after we get back to Bolivia. The problem is my husband doesn't have stronger ties than he did on his past two applications. Our only 'new' evidence is the fact that he went to the United States on a K-1 visa and COULD have stayed, but chose not to. I'm hoping that counts for something, or a lot.

We don't particularly own anything, unfortunately. We rent an apartment and use the bus rather than a car. And neither of those things will be changing anytime soon. And unfortunately even our jobs are relatively unconvincing of ties. :(

Any advice on how to get approved??? I'd really appreciate ANY suggestions or advice you all have! :)

Thanks,

Laura

I think it would be best to do AOS and then leave, at least he would have a greencard and travelling back and forth would not be such a hassle. Being a spouse of a USC makes it even harder to get a tourist visa, i know because i tried for tourist visa before going through the immigration process.

Just my opinion anyway.
