Good for you! I'm glad you decided to file. It's good to come full circle on this long immigration process even though you are getting closer to your due date.

Chinook and I didn't know for sure that Chinook would have the oath ceremony on the same day she interviewed until she actually was in her interview. That's when they told her. It was really nice to complete everything in one day.

First off - CONGRATS!!!

Second after I sent you a message I found this post you created. We are also going through Seattle. Our interview is scheduled for 7:55am on October 16th (9 days too late to register to vote for this election - grrr). Anyways, I see that you had Oath ceremony on the same day as interview. Is this something they always do? We're coming from Whidbey Island and it would be a hassle to have all of the family go to Seattle to just find out the ceremony won't be that day. I called USCIS and they said it's typically 90-120 days AFTER the interview. Are the ceremonies typically at 1pm? I sure wish there were published numbers for the local offices!

Yes, at the Seattle office, they do the oath ceremony the same day as the interview. After the oath ceremony, I asked them about this issue because I couldn't find out anything about it on their website.

They said that they do naturalization interviews in the morning Monday through Thursday, and no interviews on Friday. Then they have the oath ceremony in the afternoon Monday through Thursday. They said that there are a few exceptions to that rule but, for the most part, everyone who has an interview in the morning is asked to return at 1:05 p.m. for the oath ceremony.

So, invite your family and bring your camera on October 16 at 1:05 p.m. because your hubby's oath ceremony will be then. Bring ID to get into the building. Cell phones and cameras are allowed.

I believe your hubby can register to vote until October 29 and vote in the upcoming election. However, he has to register in person at your county elections office. Check it out.

Best wishes!!!

Where did you get the info about October 29th? I thought for sure it had to be 30 days prior.

I forgot where I got that info, but I researched it as Chinook was getting closer to the 30-day cutoff date

Check it out at your elections office. Remember, late registration has to be done in-person at the county elections office and nowhere else in order to be able to vote in the upcoming election. Let me know if you find out anything different.
