They require originals for the I-864 but it's good for you to keep a copy for yourself. You can get a headstart by dowloading the instructions and forms from USCIS.org

the forms need to be originals but documents such as birth certificates and passports should clearly just be copies. If you are sending any of these: The tax transcripts should be originals sent to you from the IRS and letter from employer needs to be original.

You are wrong. Docs like bc certificate, marriage certificate ,police certificate should be original or if they are copies, they should be authenticated. Tax return can be copies
