So I will be traveling to the US under a b1/b2 visa. Currently my bf and I started the k1 process (we are awaiting on the NOA2). I will bring necessary docs such as the NOA1 printed email, certificate of employment, vacation leave approval, and my itinerary that covers return date/tix.

My question is:

1.) When i talk to the CBP, is it necessary to refer to my bf as my fiance? Will it be a "lie" if I just refer to him as my bf?

2.) since we are undergoing the k1 process, i have read that immigration usually calls the sponsor for verification and the like. my dilemma is that my bf will be on a plane the same day/time i will touchdown my POE. (we will meet at the airport of his home state - he will be arriving 20 mins before i do). i will be bringing with me his itinerary. will that be a problem?

First of all if you've applied for a K1 visa, he would not be classified as you're boy friend, but as you're fiance....

If you weren't to apply for K1, then he would be you're boyfriend :)

You're engaged if applying for a K1, not just dating :)

Be sure to apply for the right one, or you could possibly have confusion in later time with immigration processing.....

You need to say he is you're fiance, :)good luck

Boyfriend/Fiance, it really doesn't matter, until you are married he is still your boyfriend. Just tell the truth if you're asked about the K1 and you will be fine.

I am curently in the US now. CBP seems that he doesn't really mind on how I call my guy. He did ask if we have plans and I said yes - he files the petition. CBP asked for all my docs- return ticket, cert of employment, approval of vacation leave. He was kinda hesitant to let me through but since I have the docs needed and he asked his coworker for a second opinion, he let me through, :-)
