Hi everyone,

My husband and I are new to this site and have found comfort in knowing we are not alone. We are in the 40+ bracket....yikes!! :/ I'm British and my husband American. We got married in April 2012 and haven't seen eachother since...ugh!!! We filed our I-130 in June and haven't heard anything since.....not sure if that is a good or bad thing, LOL!!

Anyway, wanted to say hi to everyone and am hoping to meet other couples in a similar situation geographically/same timeline. We sure as hell could do with the support!!

God Bless everyone!!

Just wanted to say welcome and congratulations on your marriage!!!!

I too am a UK resident married to a USC,you're a few months ahead of me but I can certainly understand how much you'll be missing your new husband right now!!!! The process maybe necessary but it feels damn cruel to keep people apart for so long!!!!

I see you're with CSC,and from what I understand that could be a good thing seeing as the Vermont centre is running behind at the moment!!!

Good luck and I hope your journey to be together is a swift one!!!

Welcome to VJ :) My husband and I filed in July so we're pretty close by...lol

You're still in the approval time-frame...between 3-5 months if I'm not wrong. We're also crossing our fingers and waiting

All the best to us all!

Hi Lynndy, thanks for the warm welcome. I think this is the hardest thing I have gone through in a loooong time, lol!! It's so easy to feel alone when friends and family just 'don't get it' but reassuring to have others for support going through this 'nitemare' process it's just such a huge shame there ARE so many of us dealing with this.

From what we've read so far you are right being with CSC is a God send and we are SO thankful for that. I just hope we ALL move along quickly with this process. My husband and I both share the same thought that when this is over we would love to stay in contact with others or at least offer our support. God only knows we all need it right?!

Welcome and good luck!

Safety Chick...thank you for the warm welcome!! Good luck to you and your sweetheart :)

I'm also pretty new here, still learning to navigate the "system" lol. It sure feels like decades of waiting...I'm just lucky my honey is with me physically. Otherwise I would probably have no hair from pulling on it...

I feel your pain - we went through the exact same thing last year. It seemed to take forever but we were actually pretty lucky and got through the whole process in 7 1/2 months. I have been here for nine months and that long wait and the separation is now just a distant memory!

Congratulations on your marriage and best wishes for a swift journey.

Hi Cathy, Congratulations on finally being with your husband. It sure does help to hear positive stories like yours. We are 3 months in after submitting our I-130...do you think I'm being too hopeful in thinking there is a chance I can move around Christmas? lol

Nothing wrong with being hopeful. If you were to get your NOA2 today it would probably take a week or so before your file got to NVC and then around three weeks going through NVC. Of course that is assuming both NVC and USCIS are working at top speed - I don't know where they are at the moment because they seem to constantly speed up one minute and then slow down the next. You can see from my signature how long things were taking this time least year and we were ready to jump as soon as we could at every stage.

Once your interview is scheduled you could contact the Embassy to see if an earlier one were possible.

If you haven't already I would take a look at this thread; it will give you a feel for what is happening at NVC currently and Saylin's guides are very helful:

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are new to this site and have found comfort in knowing we are not alone. We are in the 40+ bracket....yikes!! :/ I'm British and my husband American. We got married in April 2012 and haven't seen eachother since...ugh!!! We filed our I-130 in June and haven't heard anything since.....not sure if that is a good or bad thing, LOL!!

Anyway, wanted to say hi to everyone and am hoping to meet other couples in a similar situation geographically/same timeline. We sure as hell could do with the support!!

God Bless everyone!!

Welcome. We are also in our 40's. My hubby is Scottish and I am the USC. It took about 7 months from the wedding until he had the visa in hand to move here. We did the CR1 route in 2009 and he arrived in 2010. We went through Calif Svc center for the CR1. We live near Boston so it was supposed to be VT but they were backed up and we were transferred. We just got the 10 year GC approval.

It's tough being apart. We talked every day but it was hard. We tried to get together about every 8 weeks even of just for a weekend. It was tough but so worth it! Our original plan was for me to move to UK but after several visits he decided he liked the sunshine and wanted to love here instead. We go back a couple times a year and wish we could go more often.

Where will you be living in the US and out of curiosity where in the UK are you from?

Welcome to VJ, I think you will find that this forum will be an eye opener for you! We got married in April as well and I haven't seen my wife since then also. You will also find that on some days this will be a very trying process.

Good luck to you!,
