Greetings! I hope everyone has been doing well.

My wife, who I brought here on a K-1 Visa, and I married on February 25, 2012. I am about to begin the AOS process and have a few questions before I begin.

1) We just recently moved (Mid August). Do I need to fill out the appropriate form and update USCIS with "Change of Address" before filing AOS for K1 Visa... or can I just put our new address on all the paperwork? Or should I fill out the Change of Address form and submit it with the AOS package that I send them?

2) I do know that we were required to marry within 90 days... by February 26, 2012. We were married in Las Vegas on February 25, 2012, thus before the deadline. The Marriage Certificate says we were married on February 25, 2012, however I do see that it was filed with or stamped by the Calrk County Recorder on Tuesday Feb 28, 2012. I'm assuming that is not an issue?

3) Lastly, I think I read somewhere that the medical she had done in Colombia is good for a year. Does this mean that if I file for AOS within 1 year of when she had her last medical done we are all set, or do you think we will have to have her do another medical since the one we had done for K-1 was done in Colombia roughly end of Oct or beginning of Nov 2011. I'm assuming AOS takes longer than 2 months, which would put us over the 1 year mark by the time the AOS is approved. Thoughts?

Thanks

1) Your wife can file the AR-11 form to change address before filing for AOS then use your new address on the AOS forms. You are supposed to notify them within 10 days of moving. https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

2) You were married within the 90 days. That is what counts. The date on the marriage certificate is when your marriage was officially registered by the clerk. Your actual wedding date should also be there on the certificate.

3) You do not need a new medical if it was done within a year of filing, not when they approve it.

Cool, thanks.

So it looks like "she" needs to fill out an AR11 online and do a change on line... and I guess I can go ahead and fill out a change as well?

Where it asks questions about "Do we have a pending case." Is the answer to that "Yes or NO?" I really don't know if they would consider our case pending since we haven't started AOS process yet... though we are in the middle of the overall K1 process, right?

Please help. My wife needs to do a change of address. When I went to USCIS and looked up AR-11, it asks for a receipt number if she has a case pending. Does she have a case pending? I do not know the answer to that questions.

Timeline... She was approved for K1 visa in Nov 2011, we married within the 90 day period in Feb 2012... we haven't proceeded with AOS. I am going to start that right now. I wish I would have done it earlier as it appears the medical is good for one year and it looks like her medical was done in Bogota on Nov 8, 2012... so I have missed it by a day :-(

Regardless, we want to get the paperwork done and sent off today, but we can't figure out what we need for the address change. Ie. Do we have a case pending or not? If so, where would I find this receipt number they are referring to? Originally I paid by money order, so I do not have the back of any checks.

Thanks

Ok, so I have found a receipt #. I see a reciept # on the approval letter to the I-129F that I received back in Aug 2011 that starts with EAC-... But that was for the I-129F, so I assume that is not what they are looking for. My sense is we do not have an open case and no receipt # is needed, correct?

I would just do it without a receipt number since you do not have a pending case at the moment. Just fill out the one online and then use that new address on your AOS forms when you send them in.
