Polish Immigrant's Take on the Presidential Race

I attended a Republican political gathering today (9/9/12), chiefly to ask my Congressman the question posed in this thread:

Box lunches were served. I and a man who sat down beside me had a chat while eating. He had immigrated from Poland and works as an engineer here. He mentioned that he had grown up under the Communist regime.

I asked him if he saw any parallels between the leaders of those days and 0bama here today. He said, "It's pure. The promises, the actions..." I asked him again. He said, "It is as pure as fingerprints."

I asked him whether he was there (at the function) for a reason related to be above. He said, "Sure. I grew up under the Communist regime and don't want to see the same happen here."

I asked him his prediction in regard to the upcoming Presidential election. He said, "I think that we can get rid of 0bama. I think that the citizens here are still aware enough to realize what is going on. If they do not, they will realize clearly soon enough."

Alla often makes the same remarks. "I grew up in communism and now I am supposed to VOTE for it here?" She had a meeting at work where they were told that it was their "duty to report fellow workers who were not following policies" She said she heard these same words in Komsomol meetings and Young Pioneer meetings. "I guess it is OK if your President is named 'Obama' but not if he is named 'Brezhnev'"

It is not a coincidence I believe that so many of the "conservative" VJ members are married to spouse from former communist "utopias". The RUB members are overwhelmingly conservative and I absolutely do not think it is a coincidence. (James, James & Olya, is our token liberal but at least he is an intelligent one, RUB women are not attracted to stupid men)

Your Polish immigrant must have suffered a severe case of amnesia. Sorry but having grown up just west of his border under the same rule, there is NOTHING here that would even remotely suggest that this country is headed down that path.
