In regards to the above link, when do they post updates to this graph? It's September and it's still showing June #s.

I-130 mailed: 6/11/12

NOA1: 6/14/12

Touched: 6/19/12

and so we wait

Below is a reply I got from USCIS about a month ago...

Good morning,

The times posted to the USCIS website are official. You will need to refer to them to determine whether your case is within normal processing times. When you look at the USCIS website, you will see two dates – a “posted” date and an accurate “as of” date. New processing times are posted to the USCIS website on the 15th (approx.) of each month. However, because it takes time for us to collect and validate the data, the processing times are 45 days old (approx.) by the time they are posted. We are working to develop a system that should minimize the lag time to 7 days (approx.). We are currently in the testing phase and hope to have it operational before the end of the calendar year.

Thank you!...I guess a better indication is the recent approvals from people who have filed over there.

Yes..but depends on where you are getting this info from. If you are going by the approval posts you see on this forum, not a very accurate measure. Neither really is Igor's list, as it's still only a small percentage of the I-130's pending, and relies completely on user input..but better than anecdotal I guess. You could go nuts and start manually searching through individual receipt numbers like I did last month, but I would only do that if you have nothing else better to do.

Ideally, the US gov't would "open up" all of their data, so that people could calculate their chance of being approved within a certain timeframe. See this post below from a former USCIS adjudicator, to give you an idea on how USCIS works. It's not like a line at a supermarket...100 people who submitted 2 months after you, could be approved ahead of you.
