I haven't got any questions, but just wanted to post a thread expressing how hard this process is. I'm glad that I am going through it, but just finding it so hard being away from my fiance :/.

We have a beautiful son together, I just want us to be a family. This is very grueling.

I'm going through the longest part of the process now, which is waiting for us to be approved at the Vermont Service Centre. I am not hearing good things about their timescale, so this is making the situation worse.

Just would like some comforting words, just so I know that i'm not the only one feeling like this. Also if anyone has anymore info regarding the processing times at VSC would be greatly appreciated.

Feeling sad...

I feel your pain. At least your not at the 200 day mark like me. Everone keeps telling me to stay focused and keep your head up and be proud that you have found the love of your life. I have waited 45 years for my soul mate and I guess 200 days should feel like a drop in the bucket. And yes I am useing VSC as well. You gotta love it.

It is a long wait with VSC but there's not much we can do exceptwait some more :( But I am keeping myself busy by working, downsizing, reading posts on this site (very very informative), meeting up with friends, generally getting ready for the move (fingers crossed) and chatting to my love on skype  Keep busy with things and activities you enjoy, it will help a bit.

You're not alone, doll. The best things in life are worth fighting for and you're surrounded by people who are struggling toward the same goal. It's not an easy process. Just keep your eye on the prize because before you know it you'll be a happy family having breakfast together. That small thing in itself is a gift that so many couples take for granted and once you've finally got it you'll have a relationship stronger than anyone you know because of what you went through to achieve it.

My husband and I spend so many hours a day in tears on Skype and something we just keep repeating everytime that unmistakable pain in your middle fires up is 'It'll all be worth it in the end--We're almost there.' And it will. You just have to have faith. I'm not gonna be happy until he's laying in bed with me and we're watching some dodgy TV show like Storage wars and yelling at the TV over what they're paying for. Chin up :)

Thank you for your kind words. It's nice to know i'm not the only one having these feelings. I had to smile when you mentioned Storage Wars, as me and my fiance always watched that...I even watch it here in the UK to cheer me up. :)

Not a problem. That's what we're all here for, to support each other through this rough patch.

We lived together in England for 2 years but since I'm self employed I had to get my butt back here to get myself registered and sort out accommodations. My husband went back to the UK after being here for 3 weeks on the 3rd of this month and we're both losing our marbles over the separation. When he was here, each night we would lay in bed watching those pawn shows and storage wars and when I'd start to drift off he'd randomly exclaim something at the TV and I'd jump up. He literally woke me up to admire an antique brass cash register with him lol.

Where in the US does your fiance live? Where in the UK are you?

Aww, that's awesome!

My fiance lives in Florida (45 minutes from Orlando!), hence probably the reason why our petition got sent to Vermont.

I live in Swindon, a town in the southwest of England.

I stayed in Florida with him for 3 months but just had a visa on the waiver program, so then I had to go back to England.

I fell pregnant there with our son and had him back in England, my fiance was there for the birth. :)

My son now has dual citizenship, he has his US passport and Social Security Number already! I had to apply for that for him at the London embassy and that's where I will be going if I get to my interview for the K-1 visa.

We miss each over immensely, and chat everyday. It's heartbreaking that he just gets to see photos of his son and we are not there with him.

We love each over so much, I love everything about him, we are soul mates. :)

This has been the longest, emotional journery I have every been through.. But it's not that it gets easier,, it's you get stronger, your faith get's deeper and you realized that this realationship is the one worth this battle. You realize that you are stronger than you every thought. So you please don't be hard on yourself, get close to your support system and keep the communication encouraging , with your fiancee..

Peace,

chi

I know how you feel. I've received my NOA1 already but know it will be some time before my Princess is still in my arms. We chat every day nearly all day. I miss her more than these mere words could ever express. Its funny, I find myself checking the mail hoping that my NOA2 has arrived. I'm sure that I'll receive notification on my phone prior to before the actual letter is mailed. In any case I consider myself blessed because I still have family and friends who actually keep me encouraged along with skype, yahoo messenger, google chat, email and of course the phone when its time to hear her sweet resounding voice. I say all of that to say that you along with those of us who have posted here are all lucky to have found that special person who makes you smile in midst of many miles apart. It's going to be okay.

Andy

Thank you for the wonderful blessing :-)

Without skype the wait would be much harder! But It's like I tell my love when the distance feels like its at its greatest. If we can make it through all this, the waiting and distance, We will be able to make it through Anything! Its hard, I just got my NOA1 a few days ago, but it'll be worth it ;)
