Rasmussen, Gallup and others' figures are completely irrelevant.

If you really want to talk about the subject seriously you need to check the Twitter polls.

Unfortunately for our friends on the right, Obama is smoking Romney on Twindex too.

Now that Romney came out on MTP yesterday saying that he will retain many of the Obamacare components before denying he said any such thing, I suspect that true conservatives will sour even more on their flip flop candidate. What can I say? Mitt happens.

#######, I knew we forgot to check Twitter. :(

Obama 25

Romney 11

Mitt happens.

Of course he will and would. Obamacare is not much different than Romneycare and I am still to find someone to explain to me why Romney care was good and Obamacare is not. The only explanations I received were partisan ruminations with little or no content.

Romney is so confusing. I don't even know what to disagree with him about anymore, because tomorrow, he'll come out and say he agrees with me

In all honesty, I don't think he is the problem, so much as the associations he has made in order to secure the nomination.

He is trying to please the 5th columnists within his own party, in addition to the extremists and fringe elements of the Tea party and their Queen of Hearts.

In the process he is alienating the moderate republicans who compose the vast majority of the GOP, in addition to the independents.

Obamacare is also not much different than Gingrichcare - the 1993 Republican health care reform proposal. You see, Republicans really were for Obamacare before they were against it. This is why they nominated Mitt. Mitt perfected the personfication of being for something before being against it.

The Republicans as a whole have lost their way, which is the reason they have the Tea Party now. It's the old school Repubs vs. the Neocons. As long as there is division like that in the Republican party, it will be extremely difficult for them to win any Presidential election.

The moderate republicans got complacent IMHO, and that gave the TBs the opportunity to highjack the party.

I am sure Regan would not recognize the GOP today and I have no doubt the TBs would have burned him at the stake were they in existence back in the day.

I do agree that Regan would not recognize the GOP of today, but I seriously doubt that the Tea Party would not embrace him. Regan is considered by many to be the original Tea Party candidate.

Reagan is to the left of Obama so it is hard to see how Reagan could be considered the original Tea Party candidate.

It's perhaps a stretch to place Reagan to the left of Obama but it is true that Reagan would not have a shot at a candidacy in today's tea party dominated Republican party. For starters, Reagan actually RAISED taxes to put Social Security on more solid footing. He maintained spending well above historic averages. He collected more tax revenue than was the case historically. And he managed to leave a gap between tax collections and government spending that was big enough to triple the national debt over two terms in office. Anyone that would suggest that a candidate that raises taxes to save SS, collects above average taxes, spends even more and triples the national debt in 8 years is the original Tea Party candidate hasn't been paying attention.
