Good night - I have a couple questions I hope you guys can help with:

Can you give approximate timing on how long after beging approved at the interview (paying courier) and when the visa is ready for pickup? I am trying to figure out when to book my return plane ticket for (hopefully will be adding one for my fiancee lol).

We got our interview date today of October 12th and we will be setting up the Medical Exam as soon as we get Packet 4. So its look like only 3 facilites (1 Mobay 2 Kingston) and I have been told it can be hard to get an appt. I assume the medical (envelope) needs to be in hand a few days before (picked up I guess) but how long from the exam date until the envelope is ready? Am I assuming right on that? Sounds like the exam needs to be done at least two weeks out from the interview?? Trying to get an idea of when to schedule.

I have tried to search all around at everyone's timelines and posts but thought it might be easier to just ask. Thanks so much

Did you email the Embassy and ask them to email you a copy of the interview letter? If not, you can do that. As long as you know your interview date, you can call and schedule the medical exam. You need the interview letter to bring to the medical exam. My fiance's medical exam was scheduled 2 weeks before the interview date and he was told to pick up the medical record 3 days prior to the interview date.

It's hard to say when you will receive the visa. That's why they say don't book any airfare tickets until you have the visa in hand. I've read some reviews where people get them in 3 days and some people get them a few weeks later.

you need to do the medical about 2 weeks before the interview date. they will tell you which date to come pick it up..more than likely a few days before interview. When you do the visa interview, if everything is alright, you SHOULD get it within a week. if not......IDK so think about all that when your planning

Yes that is exactly right, just ensure you call and schedule the appoint at the approved locations and have the stuff they require ready. 1-3 weeks about how long it really takes on average. Good Luck.

Do he have to get more shots his shots recods 4 vaccine he's in his 40s, can lab for

std be done outside also.

Maybe you can get away with doing the shots outside since it will have to be updated on the card.

Everything to do with the medical must be done by the doctors on the list provided by the embassy.

Updated how?, I got a card with Tetenus/dip , OVP, Measle/rubella done june my interview date may fall Dec since NVC just requested new BC, so I figure about Nov B 4 I know something. Should I get a new set B4 medical I am trying to cut cost here

Thanks A&K! Great info. I too was hoping to do the shots in Negril and take that record to the Medical as the current record to hopefully save some $$ but don't want to chance ANYTHING that would cause a problem.

My fiance got all of his vaccinations done at a local dr's office and brought his vaccination record to the medical exam. They accepted it.

After calling Medical Assc and Andrews I feel I will go with Andrews they were forthright with answers

its $9500 for exams , and up to $1800 Ja.funds for shots, at both places, they do not accept outside xray but the cost for that is covered in the exam fee, Medical assc would not reveal anything regarding type of shots while Andrews says one could come in to see if additional shots are needed. I

read somewhere if you have all your shots on record take photocopies too to medical for Dr report.

What were all the shots he got, and was it repeated or just one set?

Some of the shots require more than one dose. He started his shots several months before the interview date though. They spread the shots out over several months. He got MMR (Mumps, Measles, Rubella) - 2 doses, Tet Tox. (T.T.)/Adult DT - 3 doses, Hepatitis B - 3 doses, and Varicella (Chicken Pox) - 2 doses. He told the dr’s office that he needed vaccinations for his visa and those were the shots that they recommended. They gave him a vaccination record to bring to the medical exam. The medical exam accepted the shots. He had his shots completed in July and his medical exam was in August. I don’t know if the shots need to be done so many days or months prior to the medical exam. You may want to check on that before proceeding.

Oh OK I should be fine I wont be interviewing until maybe end of yr so I will o get 2nd batch, those are the ones I got

thank you, I read someplace here that Med Asscs. refused shot records from someone but it was eight days old maybe its the time fator.

Yeah, I read that too. I'm thinking it wasn't done far enough in advance too. Good luck to you:-)
