Why would you be denied???? have you been denied??

Kezzie

No Kezzie................I haven't, but I'm trying to to find something positive about them not giving me a definate answer after the interview. I called the hotline yesterday and I was told that there was nothing holding up my petition (I asked if maybe there was a background check being done) and that it could take as much as 90 days before hearing anything.................and only after then should I try making an infopass appointment. I just want to believe that them taking my I-94 was a positive sign. Thanks.

The Baltimore office acts a little different than other DO's. Seems like they dont let you know immediately if you were approved or not. Give it a few days, you might be surprised.

Keep your chin up, and block all those bad thoughts!

Has anyone been denied or know of someone else who was denied after the interviewer has taken their I-94 during the AOS interview. I want to find out................its driving me crazy waiting for a response from USCIS.

I was interviewed by the Baltimore office too & just like you, the interviewer wasn't giving any indication that I was approved.. Weird.... After my interview, the man just told me to wait for a decision in the mail... It's been a week already & my case has been touched twice in the USCIS website... & unlike you, my I-94 wasn't taken... When was your interview anyhoo? The man who interviewed me just took my hubby's latest payslips and took a copy of my military ID... Asked me some basic questions... It was all too fast... I don't know if it has something to do with my hubby not being there on the interview with me but what can I do, my hubby is serving in the military. I even showed the interviewer a letter from his chain of command that he can't attend my interview because he is in Iraq...

Don't be discouraged.... Just keep your head up & if you don't hear anything from them for quite sometime, make an INFOPASS appointment.. That's what I'm planning to do if I don't hear from them soon...

That's exactly how it went. I had a lady though and it was finished in like 15 minutes. I had my interview on Sept 21, 06. I thought that they would give some indication.............I've read where a lot of people say that the interviewer told them that they have been approved and it seemed weird that she couldn't tell me on the spot. I think they probably need time to verify some things (I am adjusting based on an approved I-130 from 98 that I wasn't aware of), and for you I'm sure that you'll be approved soon. I see on their website that they are processing AOS with reciept notice dates in January, so I was also wondering if they were probably way behind. Hope we don't have to wait for more than 6 months.

I will try to make an infopass appointment if I haven't heard from them in 90 days...................seems so long to wait though........Good luck and the best of wishes to you. Keep your head high also and be positive.......no news is good news right? Thanks.

I forgot to tell you that my interviewer said he's going to show all my paperwork to his supervisor because he doesn't have the authority to approve my case... He's a young chap & kind of poker-straight faced so I was confused whether I was approved or not.. He seemed to have noticed the confusion on my face & told me that my papers are good enough... But still, he did not stamp me nor took my I-94... which is not normal right?

Have you checked your status in the USCIS website? or have you tried calling them about the status of your case?? Maybe you should...Mine has been touched twice after my interview last Oct. 18... I'm hoping that's a good sign. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. God bless you & the best of luck to you too! (F)

I check my status every morning................waiting to see some update. My application has also been touched twice since the interview. One touch came the afternoon of the interview and the other 4 days later. I've had none since then.............keep waiting to see something. Its good to know I'm not the only one in this position. Thanks and hopefully soon we'll both get our GCs in the mail. Good luck to you too and I'll keep praying for us.
