for 2 visas, you need 2 interviews. Is possible to have K-3 and CR-1 , but usually the CR-1 visa nulls out the K-3 visa.

So, if you have a compelling reason to HAVE a K-3 visa , follow up with the K-3 visa processing at the US Embassy IV Unit.

Otherwise, stay on the CR-1 visa path, and help yer USCitizen Spouse with document intake at NVC.

If you not wish to pursue a K-3 visa, please consider to email the IV Unit in France, cancelling the K-3 process with them.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

the embassy will cancel the K-3 visa after the CR-1 visa is approved.

Ya can't have both concurrently.

here's a comparison, perhaps this will help?

Comparison on K-3 vs CR-1 - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/204324-wondering-if-i-made-a-mistake-marrying-in-us/page__view__findpost__p__3060767

for yer timeticks, though -

is possible to have a K-3 interview, then receive the K-3 visa... Afterwards (usually) the NVC document intake is finished, another interview is scheduled for a CR-1 visa, you go for this interview, receive CR-1 visa.

I dunno - I say time is money, and money is time. IMO, it makes more sense to get a CR-1 visa, as you have other immigration benefits available to you after you come through the POE - and with a K-3 visa - you have little to none immigration benefits. Also, IMO, you will probably have a 2 month 'lag' between getting a K-3 visa and getting a CR-1 visa -

so

what do you want? pursue the thing you want. Both have money implications. To do both visas, IMO, is a waste of money... Is duplicate effort with civil documents, so will be double the money to obtain the civil documents, also.

IMO, stay with the CR-1 path.

finally -

a K-3 visa has no greencard attached to it.

You can't work, you can't get a SSN without applying for and paying for an EAD.

to obtain a green card, after arriving in the USA, one must apply for it, via an 'adjustment of status' case.

IMO, is really useless for you to pursue the K-3 visa, as it's intent from 2001 is mostly nullified

by

faster processing with FBI namechecks, faster processing at USCIS, faster processing at NVC.

all has gotten faster. So much faster, that the 'time gap' that was 2 years, about 6 years ago, is shorted to 2 months.

I know that may not make sense to you, but if you can persevere an additional 2 months for CR-1 processing and intake at NVC, it's so much worth it.
