Donna&Paul - Argh. :-( It seems that you are in the same boat as me. I'm adjusting from an L1-B.

Gandolftheyellow - I called USCIS today. They said that there were no outstanding requests for information or interviews scheduled or anything, which in one sense is a relief, as it means I haven't missed anything important. They also said that the processing time for the National Benefits Center in Missouri is 4 months, but that timeframe includes interviews, approvals, everything, so technically this should be all done by the 2nd week in January.

If I haven't heard anything in 6 weeks, I'm to call back and they will expedite the case.

So - I'm telling myself that I haven't heard because they're going to approve it all without an interview. :innocent:

You might wanna check out this August filers thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/382722-august-2012-aos-filers/page__pid__5859371__st__1545#entry5859371

There is someone from MN talking about 6-7 months. I read somewhere here on VJ that only couples adjusting from K1 might not be asked to come to an interview since they already had one for the K1.

02/01/2007 - entered US and started working on L1

02/01/2010 - transferred to H1-B

05/08/2010 - met my love

08/11/2012 - got married! :)

As my husband and I were on the phone waiting to speak with a representative at USCIS this afternoon, I just happened to plug in our receipt numbers online and POOF! There they were! I-131 APPROVED! I-765 APROVED!! It must have happened this afternoon because they weren't in there when I checked this morning. After more than 2 months they finally show up in the system! Halle-frickin-lluah! So there's still a chance we might be able to make it to Denmark for Christmas! Any idea once you're approved how long it takes to get the card in hand??? I'm trying to get an infopass appointment to see if we can get a card expedited now that it's approved... Our flights are for Friday night.

The I-130 and I-485 receipt numbers still aren't showing up, but hey, this is better than nothing :)

Mrs. B-Congratulations! That really is great news. Technically, you can travel once the application is approved however, I'm given to understand from the forum that in the event of any mistakes on the card, re-entry can be a pain or an issue with CBP. Most people recommend having the card in hand before traveling. If you can get a print out of an official notice (maybe an Infopass would help in this) and have it with you, it could possibly help. To answer your original question-it usually takes about 7-9 days to receive the card and you should start getting updates on it's production and dispatch over the next few days.

Once again, super news and congratulations!

Well somehow or another I was able to get us an infopass appointment at our local USCIS office in the San Fernando Valley this morning. We decided to try our luck to see if there was any way they would find it in their hearts to expedite a card for my husband now that's he approved for AP so that we can travel on Friday night to Denmark. I read some stories on here where people have been able to do that even when it wasn't for an extenuating circumstance. Well we're home now and still no card in hand. We were told that unless it's a life or death emergency, they will not print a card on the spot. We could have lied and concocted some story but we were honest and it got us absolutely nowhere. Very unfortunate that we're now going to have to pay probably more than $1000 each to change our tickets. We called the USCIS main line on our way home and the tier 2 rep told us that our card was being mailed out today and to call back later to get a tracking number. I guess there's always a chance it could arrive by Friday afternoon... Guess we'll wait and see!

I wish that USCIS gave people an option to pay extra money to have their cards shipped a different way rather than snail mail. It's amazing to me that the system isn't more efficient all around.

At any rate, the MSC numbers for our I-485 and I-130 are now showing up online and we're just waiting in line for an interview date to become available. At least things are moving along and I have to admit, pretty quickly compared to a lot of people. Have to be thankful and grateful for the positives! :)

Hey there! Thanks :) Every person we've asked has told us DO NOT leave the country without the card in hand. When we went for the infopass appointment this morning, the lady that helped us said that even with approval, one should not leave the country without the actual card. I thought it was strange that she also mentioned his case would be abandoned if he left without the card, even though he's APPROVED. I guess the moral is, don't take any chances. We would never risk his AOS status by leaving without the card, it's just not worth it. Praying that it arrives quickly! Fingers crossed :)

Haha! Yea, there was no update on my signature because I haven't had anything to update it with. All of our MSC numbers are now showing up online and it looks like we're now just waiting for an interview date to become available at our local office. I have to say that we've been fortunate so far. The waiting game is hard but it all works out in the end, I guess I'm being forced to learn better patience ;)
