That's really good to know. So many have gotten theirs very quickly that you begin to think there's something wrong when your own case is taking longer. The waiting game sucks. We have tickets to go to Denmark to visit my husband's family next Friday and it's looking like we're going to be changing them, such a bummer :(

Just got approved today. Here's the details:

The last processing action taken on your case

Your Case Status: Decision

On December 7, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. Hey mezamo, the IO took my I94. I didn't apply for EAD, and I already have SSN when I worked on campus a while ago. I guess you can use GC to apply for SSN :D

Best luck to you, GreenTrain :D

@Mezamo: My IO did not take anything from me, and did not stamp anything either. She just asked me to sign that I-485 paper that we sent in earlier which she stamped with a stamp that states "I hereby state that everything on this form is true, and everything I stated here is true" and it had a line underneath and that's where I had to sign it. That was it. She did not take anything away, or stamped my visa/passport page, or I-94. I have them all and unstamped. Hope this helps. I already have SSN from my childhood (I basically grew up here) through my parents. Good luck!

@GreenTrain: let us know when you hear something as we're all anxious for you! :)

@Mezamo: Ps: I think if they took your EAD you could still take along that paper that approved you for EAD and just explain them that the EAD card itself has been taken away at your recent interview. If you happen to make a copy of your EAD before the interview take that along as well to show that you did have your card already.

I'm getting worried and frustrated.

I had biometrics on 10/12 and received my EAD on 11/24, but not a peep regarding an interview, or even a request for more information. Our NOA date was 9/11.

Is there anybody else with a similar date that is still waiting? I'm seeing a lot of posts from people with similar filing dates who received interview dates a month ago and I'm getting worried.

Cheers,

travelfairy

I don't know what kind of Visa you're adjusting from. We are adjusting from a K1 Visa. Paul just got his EAD/AP card in the mail Saturday and we haven't heard a peep about his I485. It still just says "Acceptance" on the USCIS website. His NOA1 date was 9/19 and he had biometrics on 10/11. I feel like there's no rhyme or reason to why some are getting interview dates and others are having to wait. Now that we have that EAD we can relax a bit though. That's the purpose of it being good for a year. So that the USCIS has time to process everything but we don't have to put our whole lives on hold for that long.

That's really good to know. So many have gotten theirs very quickly that you begin to think there's something wrong when your own case is taking longer. The waiting game sucks. We have tickets to go to Denmark to visit my husband's family next Friday and it's looking like we're going to be changing them, such a bummer :(

It might be a good idea to call up the USCIS and check if an interview date has been set. I have seen on this forum (Sept filers) of people who've completed all steps and waiting for an update and when they call-they're informed that a date had been set and letters sent, but they've never received it! It's a hassle to get information from them, but it's worth a shot. Don't worry, I know the wait is nerve wracking but you're almost there-keep your spirits up!

Have you heard anything?

Not a peep. I'm seeing that people who filed after us were approved last week, so I'm hoping that maybe we'll hear something this week. One never knows! We called last Tuesday and all we were told was that "it's processing". Not very helpful. We're waiting to change our tickets until the end of the week. Who knows, if we hear something tomorrow, we might be able to change them to arrive right before Christmas. If not, then we'll change them to the end of Jan or Feb and then run the risk of receiving an interview date for that time :bonk: I told my husband that I want to call them every single day until they tell us it's approved, however it's only going to be a waste of our time... Now I'm just bracing myself for what it's going to cost to change our tickets... Paid $1200 back in October and I'm guessing the change fee will be $250 plus I'll have to pay the cost in the change of fare, which could be several hundreds of dollars. :crying:

Donna&Paul - Argh. :-( It seems that you are in the same boat as me. I'm adjusting from an L1-B.

Gandolftheyellow - I called USCIS today. They said that there were no outstanding requests for information or interviews scheduled or anything, which in one sense is a relief, as it means I haven't missed anything important. They also said that the processing time for the National Benefits Center in Missouri is 4 months, but that timeframe includes interviews, approvals, everything, so technically this should be all done by the 2nd week in January.

If I haven't heard anything in 6 weeks, I'm to call back and they will expedite the case.

So - I'm telling myself that I haven't heard because they're going to approve it all without an interview. :innocent:
