I haven't received an EAD too. It surely beats the purpose. Right now i have at 22 days before my interview slated for 19 nov. Even if i receive the EAD now, it won't be of much help for the next 3 weeks! I hear that the DREAM ACT (DACA) fellows who applied in august and sep are given priority on EAD processing over the AOS filers. This has also created a backlog. USCIS premise (if this is true) is that the AOS filers will have the right to work anyway once approved, while the only benefit for Dreamers is the EAD to be able to work, so they prioritize dreamers processing....but... What happened to "first in first out" philosophy?

Just received EAD approval/production status update today. I will receive it in mail in about 10 days, eight days short of my interview. It doesn't serve my purpose! Hope u all get yours

way early before interviews. All the best wishes.

One more thing I'd like to add: it is odd, that I am "processed" at the NBC, while when I go online to the USCIS website, according to their table NBC does not even process I-130 and I-485 cases...so that suggests to me that this NBC will eventually (if have not done so) send my ####### (pardon!) to a local office...how do I know when they send it? Or how do I know that they have already done so....online it only says "accepted" for I-485 and "initial review" for I-130...I'm a bit confused on how the processing actually goes...any idea?

Thank you, thank you!

Your case is being processed at NBC. Once NBC schedule an appointment for you, they will forward your case to your local office to be interviewed. Once they schedule an interview, most likely your I-485 status will change to "Testing and Interview". I-130 status will change after your interview.

My understanding was that the NBC forwards the I-485 to the local USCIS office that has jurisdiction over your application (based on your Zip code) and based on their work load, they go ahead and schedule the interview. Of course, the NBC does a primary check to see if the paperwork is in order etc and forwards it after that. They still retain processing of I-130, I-765, I-131. Also, online updates sometimes are not a 100% spot on so you might even get a letter in the mail!

Hey people:

So I called USCIS and Gandolftheyellow was right...they did schedule my interview, for December 3rd. However, I do have a question: I thought NBC did not process I-485 applications...and yet, my interview is schedule at NBC while I am located in California. So what should I do? NBC is in Montana...flying over for an interview is not too friendly idea to me...any advice?

Thanks!

For some weird reason I cannot edit my own post and it says I don't have the permission to do...anyway, I just wanted to change "Montana" I meant to write "Missouri"...I mistyped...anyway, the question is still the same...what should I do? Or is it likely that the mail will tell me I don't need to fly away from California for the interview? Any experience on this anyone? Thank you and all the best to all of you!

Fear not! NBC does not schedule I-485 interviews, local service centers do. It will be at a service center in CA so you should be OK. I think you may receive the letter any day now so it's prep time :-)

NBC coordinates with field offices to schedule interviews. If NBC doesn't tell Field offices that a case is interview ready, then an interview cannot be schedule. Once NBC and Field offices decides on a date, then NBC will forward that particualar case to the field office and mail the applicant a notice so NBC does play a role in scheduling interviews.

Hello all Sept filers,

Time sure flies by too slowly for this whole process, especially after receiving REF, but in the end we got NOA for interview on Dec 4th at 9:15 AM in San Jose. I noticed some of us have interviews on that day; interesting and may all the prayers and blessings from our families and friends be with us! :D

By the way, does anyone have "All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident Status" and "Original and copy of each supporting document that you submitted with your application. Otherwise, we may keep your originals for our records" for required documents? I wonder what those are. Anyone's idea would be helpful and greatly appreciated!

Time to gather evidences!

PS: anyone having interviews in San Jose?
