hi everyone, im here in US now and married, my problem is this, there's a loan in citifinancial in the philippines under my name but in reality, my ex used the money and he is the one paying the loan. the problem is that he stopped paying it. my dilemma is we are buying a house now here and applying for a loan and im afraid that the bank will trace this loan which is under my name. do u think it will affect our loan even if it is in the philippines?please need an answer wth this...tnx

Do not worry as you have no credit history in the US and it would be best if only your husband applies for the loan. People in Canada and the UK who have excellent credit histories complain that they have no credit score in the US and cannot qualify for a loan. The good news is that this will not affect your credit score in the US. The bad news is that your credit history in the PI does not transfer to the US.

Do not worry as you have no credit history in the US and it would be best if only your husband applies for the loan. People in Canada and the UK who have excellent credit histories complain that they have no credit score in the US and cannot qualify for a loan. The good news is that this will not affect your credit score in the US. The bad news is that your credit history in the PI does not transfer to the US.

No don't worry about. I got my wife a low limit credit card so she could start building credit here
