Which one R&R would be is unknown now but their ill-informed blustering on the stump about Iran and Russia has echoes of GWB and his war to find non-existent WMD's in Iraq.

A look at their advisers tells you, it would be a trigger happy administration all over again. Neo-cons - that's who these two foreign policy novices are relying on. That hasn't ended well last time around and it won't end well this time. Anyone in favor of going to war with Iran, vote for Mitt. If he wins, you will get your war.

And the Chiefs of Staff will give a far more realistic appraisal of the likely outcome of any military action. That should put a swift end to any thoughts of instigating, or allowing Israel to do anything that would drag us into, military action.

One look at the predicted body count will do that.

Really? You think we are 'in' Libya? How many troops are on the ground there? How many US fatalities? The daffy one is gone at far lower cost in money, lives, and reputation than what the repubs did in Iraq! Are you as truth-impaired as R&R themselves?

You missed we spent over 1 billion in Libya and put boots on the ground ??? You been asleep . Yes we still have Operators in Libya

January 22, 2012 The United States has sent some 12,000 soldiers to Libya, in the first phase of deployments to the oil-rich North African nation.

According to Asharq Alawsat, the troops landed in the eastern oil port city of Brega.

Although the deployment is said to be aimed at generating stability and security in the region, the troops are expected to take control of the country’s key oil fields and strategic ports.

Brega, the site of an important oil refinery, serves as a major export hub for Libyan oil. The town is also one of the five oil terminals in the eastern half of the country.

Following the popular uprising of the Libyan people, NATO launched a major air campaign against the forces of the former regime on March 19, 2011 under a UN mandate to “protect the Libyan population.”

The Western military alliance, however, was heavily criticized for its failure to protect civilians and taking action beyond the terms of the UN mandate.

On October 20, Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi was killed in his hometown of Sirte, eight months into an uprising that put an end to his 42-year dictatorship.

Human rights groups have accused NATO of committing war crimes and human rights violations against Libyans.

Hate to break the news to you but more troops were have been killed in Barry's short watch in Afghanistan than in all of GWB's presidency. P.S. we are still waterboarding and Gitmo is kicking it.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-s-watch-39-months-69-percent-afghan-war-casualties

CNSNews.com) - Although President Obama has only served 39 months in office, 69 percent of the U.S. military fatalities in the more than 10-year-old war in Afghanistan have occurred on his watch. Through April 30, the Defense Department had reported that 1,844 U.S. military personnel have been killed in and around Afghanistan while deployed in Operation Enduring Freedom, which was launched in October 2001 after al Qaeda terrorists attacked the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon.

According to CNSNews.com’s comprehensive database on Afghan war casualties, at least 1,275 of the 1,844 U.S. troops killed in the Afghanistan conflict have been killed since Jan. 20, 2009, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as president.

In the more than 10 years the U.S. military has been fighting in Afghanistan, each of the three deadliest years have been during Obama’s presidency. The deadliest year was 2010, when 497 U.S. service personnel gave their lives in Afghanistan. The second deadliest year was 2011, when 399 U.S. service personnel gave their lives in Afghanistan. And the third deadliest year was 2009, when 303 U.S. service personnel gave their lives in Afghanistan.

In recent years, some U.S. casualties in Afghanistan have come at the hands of the Afghan forces that the U.S. military is seeking to train so that they can defend their own country. Since 2007, when the Pentagon began tracking these killings, 54 U.S. soldiers have been killed by Afghan troops.

On March 22, Gen. John Allen, the top commander in Afghanistan, testified in Congress that as of that point 52 U.S. service personnel in Afghanistan had been killed by Afghan forces. Of those 52, Gen. Allen said, six had taken place this year alone.

Since Gen. Allen’s testimony, two more U.S. casualties at the hands of Afghan forces have come to light.

On March 16, the Associated Press reported that the Pentagon failed to identify a U.S. soldier killed by Afghan forces in February. On May 1, the Associated Press reported that on April 25 a U.S. Army special forces soldier had been killed by Afghan forces.

The winning '08 ticket had foreign policy experience. The GOP '12 ticket has NONE.

The 08 ticket had no experience running government. Romney was a governor and ran MA. You can argue it any way you like and I am not an Obama basher. He is not a good President, IMHO. Sure he has accomplished a few things, but nothing close to live up to the hype that surrounded him 4 years ago. He was in over his head from the beginning. If he submitted a resume for the job, he never would have gotten an interview. He wasn't qualified. The media made him in 08, and soon enough we'll know if it will break him.

I'm not suggesting that Romney is a genius and will solve all the countries problems. But I'm realistic enough to know that no one is going to do that. There will always be criticism. Just the notion that one party has all the answers is idiotic. And reading here every day reinforces that. Both parties are dirty. I don't vote party lines. I vote for the candidate that I feel is best suited for the job. Unfortunately at times the choices aren't good. Like 2008, and probably now too.

I don't see how the masses blindly follow either party or any candidate from either party. The liberal vs conservative debate is amusing. And pathetic. A good idea is a good idea, no matter which party it came from. I think half of Congress behaves like spoiled brats. I'll just say no to everything. It's my way or no way at all. How these morons think it benefits the people is beyond me.

And when you disagree on VJ with either "side", they like nothing better than to label you as a extremist from the other "side". There are few here who are prepared to consider both sides of the political equation, which mirrors the country in general. :(

As for Congress, both the House of Representatives and the Senate are gridlocked because the most of the idiots that have been elected have more interest in keeping their seats than representing their constituents. Oh, and keeping the lobbying money coming their way. The all deserve to be summarily fired in November. <_<

Infowars? Do you happen to have a credible source for this? Just because you find it on the internet, doesn't mean it's true.

Good thing we didn't have any casualties in this useless war in Iraq.

We're waterboarding? Infowars? The Blaze? World Nut Daily? Where did you pick that gem up?

exactly.... we don't have a real choice we have got to settle. I don't know what Mitt can do, but I know Obama has lead us in the wrong direction and the economy is worse than the day he took over. You can take snipets like some do and say.. Oh he has added jobs. The truth is he has also lost a lot and unemployment is still higher than when he took office and millions more are out of work.

Human Rights Watch

Reuters link

You didn't actually read the article you linked to, did you? This is Bush's waterboarding. Nice try, though.

"Not only did the U.S. deliver Gaddafi his enemies on a silver platter, but it seems the CIA tortured many of them first," Laura Pitter, a counterterrorism expert at Human Rights Watch and author of the report, said in a written statement.

"The scope of Bush administration abuse appears far broader than previously acknowledged and underscores the importance of opening up a full-scale inquiry into what happened," she said.

From the HRW report itself:

When rebel forces overtook Tripoli in August 2011, prison doors were opened and office files exposed, revealing startling new information about Libya's relations with other countries. One such revelation, documented in this report, is the degree of involvement of the United States government under the Bush administration in the arrest of opponents of the former Libyan Leader, Muammar Gaddafi, living abroad, the subsequent torture and other ill-treatment of many of them in US custody, and their forced transfer to back to Libya.
