After NOA2? What comes next for the K1 visa?

Hi Everyone,

First off, no, I have not received the NOA2 yet, but am very hopeful it will come soon. I know that once I receive the NOA2, I have to send my Fiance the Affidavit of support as well as the NOA2 (he has the rest of our visa stuff there.) but otherwise, the ball is in his court. Now I have a few questions; What comes next? I know he has to get his police records, get a medical exam, and then go in for an interview. But all this "NVC" "Packet 3" and "Packet 4" gets super confusing. Also, what is the wait time of everything, average. If went and did everything as fast as he could, how short of a time could this be done in? Anybody that has been there before can break this down for me?

Thank you again!

Ok ok ok

Let's go step by step. First, please read this K1 Flowchart to see what's going to happen.

Before we go any further, please go to the K1 Guide and scroll down to where it says What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2).

You do not have to send NOA2 to your fiance. If you want to send a copy of it, please do, although it won't be needed; but please, whenever you get NOA2 keep it safe because you will need it for AOS and USCIS charges close to $500 for a copy of it, and could take months sending it to you too.

So... now that you have read the Flowchart and the K1 Guide. You ask in the Europe Forum, especially ask some fellows going through Germany; because from this point on, things get Country specific.
