Portsmouth, NH or Missouri?

Hello,

My NOA2 said that my case was being sent to the NVS in Portsmouth, NH. I thought it was Missouri.

I looked online and saw there is a visa center in Portsmouth, but I was under the impression, from reading the guides on VJ, that our K1 applications went to Missouri.

My NOA2 was from VSC so maybe its a regional/geographic decision to send to NH? Or are all our K1 visas sent to NH?

All petitions of every type go the the National Visa Center in Portsmouth NH.

GENERAL INFORMATION

In April of 1994 the Department of State opened a permanent Immigrant Visa processing facility at the National Visa Center (NVC) in Portsmouth, NH. NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions after they are received from Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security (CIS) and retains them until the cases are ready for adjudication by a consular officer abroad. Petitions may remain at NVC for several months or for many years depending on the visa category and country of birth of the visa applicant. When an applicant's case is about to become current (a visa number is likely to be available within the year), the petition is forwarded to the appropriate U.S. embassy or consulate overseas. If an applicant is adjusting status in the U.S., the case will be forwarded to the appropriate CIS office upon request by that office.

NVC is part of the state department and is the department that issues visas, they process and send the petition on to the appropriate consulate or embassy for interview, and issuance.

The office in Missouri is the National Benefits Center. Which is part of the USCIS

What is the National Benefits Center (NBC)?

The National Benefits Center was originally created as the Missouri Service Center (MSC), which was set up to process applications associated with the LIFE Act. On April 16, 2003, USCIS Director Aguirre approved the transition of the Missouri Service Center (MSC) into the National Benefits Center (NBC), which greatly expanded the scope of the Center’s operations. The NBC was primarily established to serve as the hub and conduit for all USCIS field offices by completing pre-interview processing of Forms generally requiring an interview. However, evidence of our origin remains, as all Forms receipted by the NBC still bear the receipt number prefix of “MSC.”
