having an aching worry

this is fairly sensitive stuff, but its something that's worrying me, even though it shouldn't be an issue I don't think. My fiance is colombian, and has some family here in the states: a couple of cousins, and an aunt. One of her cousins had a felony conviction, and is in prison for a few years. Although she has never even jaywalked in her life, I'm worried it would somehow affect her. Again, I'm guessing this can't and won' affect her, but having some people re-affirm that for me here will definitely help me sleep better tonight. Thanks!

by the way, although she is colombian too, she is a permanent resident of Spain and has lived there half of her life. She'll be going through the visa process there as well.

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!
