Lawyer is not nessary, specially one in India. What expreience does he have handeling CR1/IR1 cases ? the process is very simple. In NVC stage all you do it pay the fee and submit the documents.thats it.

As for contacting NVC , wait 15 days then call them to get a case number, If the case number is generated then they might have also generated Invoive Identification number , ask them for it (you will need INN and Case no. to pay the fee online.) you can also update yours and your wifes email on the same phone call with NVC. Once you have a NVC case number then ask your wife to send them a choice of agent email. you usally get a response within a day or 2.

Onece you do that wait for them to generate the invoice id number (if not done earlier) they will email you with the details asking you to make to payment online. Make the payments online. Wait for couple of days for the status to change to paid. seee its simple.

We're at the same process.

ASCHENBECHER-Did you have your wife complete her police clearence after recieving the nvc number? Is that why your process is taking so long in the NVC stage? Usually that stage can be completed within 5-6 weeks... JUst curious...Would you recomend having my husband complete his police clerance now or wait till NVC stage? ANy advice is helpful...THanks...

And your ahead of me in this process......        :)

Taal, sorry again to intervene! I'm would HIGHLY recommend that you get that police certificate ASAP! Being that you WILL need it to send in with the DS-230. Remember that it must be originals. It is country dependent, in Dominican Republic my wife was able to get hers in 2 days. But you mentioned that in 5-6 weeks? You are in the NVC stage RIGHT NOW! Have you gotten the INN (Invoice Identification Number) from NVC? You are going to need that as well! Remember that once you receive both your NVC case number AND the INN, you can email the DS-3032.

Hope that helps!

TaaI first thing is first. Don't stress yourself out! It's easy to do so with this entire process! You are more then halfway done! Now it's a matter of just ensuring that you gather all of the proper documentation!

No worries. I respond because I can relate to what you are going through, then again everyone in here can. Now regarding your INN, they are going to tell you to call back in the 15days. Don't do that! Remember that the whole thing is for you to stay ahead of the game. You receive your INN at the same time that they provide you with the NVC case number. So keep calling them! :jest: You need these two numbers for the payment portal.

https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

So you can pay the $88 AOS, and the $230 for the IV fees. That is why you NEEDED TO SEND the DS-3032 (from your husband's email) choice of agent email With the template. For that all you need is the case number. See, the reason for the INN is because as soon as you get invoiced then you can pay the fees. You can download the I-864 ( Affidavit of Support) that's the $88 and the DS-230 ( Immigrant Visa) the $230 that you will be paying. ahead of time! You DONT and WONT have to wait for them to send them to you because once they both show as PAID then all you have to do is mail them both off.

Remember that the DS-230 you husband must sign PART ONE NOT PART TWO!

Taal, I am currently just waiting to get invoiced so I can simply pay the fees! I already have both packets completed ad ready to go and ith some luck I should get an early Novemver Interview..

Hope that helps! And let me know if I can be of any more assistance!

Gracen my buddy- THanks... WOw your all ready to go.... GOOD for you. I told my husband to prepare his police clearance report... So got one thing going for me...

Okay I have a question... For the past two years I was laid off, and decided to go back to school..(as well as make sure that My fiance/ now husband would be not denied again). My brother is going to be the affidavit of support. My brother was the one that signed the fiance visa affidavit of support... So do I need any of my tax returns I recieved unemployment for a couple of months. So should I submit my tax returns as well as my brothers? Or leave mine alone....Is it necessary for my brother to submit his pay stubs as well or 1 or 2 is enough with an employer letter?

Every little bit helps..... :dance::thumbs:

Taal, yes you would need his tax returns for the last 3 years. Actually the transcripts would be better! Here's the number 1800-908-9946 for the transcripts.

Did you file taxes at all? You mentioned you received unemployment. If you filed your taxes then you MUST submit those as well, for at least the last 3years if you filed or you must explain why if you didnt file. Below I have the specifics to your questions...

What is needed in the AOS package?

Generally, the following is needed:

With no joint sponsors:

- Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

- Cover letter (optional)

- Completed, signed, and dated I-864 form by petitioner

- Tax information* of petitioner (either just the last year OR the last 3 years)

- Employment letter of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

- Pay stub(s) of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

With joint sponsors:

- All of the above of the petitioner

- Completed, signed, and dated I-864 of joint sponsor

- Tax information* of joint sponsor (either just the last year OR the last 3 years)

- Proof of US citizenship/residency of joint sponsor (ex: copy of US passport, US birth certificate, US naturalization certificate, or front & back of green card)

- Employment letter of joint sponsor (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

- Pay stub(s) of joint sponsor (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

Summary of NVC process:

- get case number and IIN, give email addresses over

- email the DS-3032

- pay the AOS bill, once it's invoiced

- once the bill appears as PAID, mail the AOS package

- pay the IV bill, once it's invoiced

- once the bill appears as PAID, mail the IV package

- respond to any checklists, if applicable

- get case complete

- get interview date scheduled

Also remember that this is a totally different petition than the I-129F, so the transcripts from your brother along with yours you will have to submit.

Hope this helps! Remember, better to be safe then sorry!:dance:

Taal, well happy Monday to you! well I'm glad to hear that you are in high spirits! Remember it's all a waiting game, but you want to have everything in order so you don't waste any time! To answer your question regarding getting married in court? Why would you? That is the first that I have heard of that.

I really don't think that would be an issue.. I don't plan on remarrying my wife... :o

Anyways, keep calling NVC for the case and the INN.. Let me know if you have any questions...

Quick question related to this thread, is the NVC process for CR-1s (from NOA2 to NVC complete) EXACTLY the same for everyone, regardless of beneficiary's country? that is, do the shortcuts above (email DS-2302 asap, send packets after invoice, etc) apply to everyone?
