Your funny....you won't trust a government website, because "there's too much bad info on the web".

But you trust people here on a public forum.....news flash....this is the "web".

Well on the USCIS website it averages a 5 month wait for NOA2, on this site it is clearly not an average. So I figure I'd get a better concensus here. Maybe bad info would have been better said old info. I'm a weigh the options kind of person what can I say. It sounds like I'm going to be quickest with k1 so I guess I'm set there. Thanks for all the info.

Does anyone know the time it would take to get a visa if you are married in Philippines? My fiance really wants to get married there, I really don't like that idea but if it were to speed up the process enough I would be game. Has anyone weighed the options and figured out what works best. I filed k1 about a month ago and won't be in Philippines until late November, I have to imagine it takes 2-3 months at a minimum.

"Does anyone know the time it would take to get a visa if you are married in Philippines?"

This was an over-view of your question, K-1 versa CR-1. Getting married in the PI is part of how long it would take to get the visa for a CR1, realistically planing and making the trip, going thrugh the process would add time to the over all timeline.

That wasn't much help, I didn't ask how to get married there. I asked how long it will realistically take to get a visa after you are married. There's too much bad info on the web to trust it, k1 visa is a lot longer than USCIS states as an average.

Actually....if your talking averages...5 months is average

right now....(but not forever) Vermont is at about 6-7 months processing

California is at about 3 months processing

When I first petitioned it was reversed.

The info on that link doesn't answer his question (about how long it takes), it only describes the steps to get married in the Philippines.

To the OP - the K1 is a fiancee visa only. Since you've already filed the K1, you would have to cancel it, and file for a CR-1 Visa if you decide to get married before getting her K1. The CR-1 generally takes longer than K1 (by a couple months on average), but has other benefits that may make it a better choice. Read here for more info -My link

Had both you and the OP bothered to look, this link does offer as of Aug 17, 2012 USCIS Processing Time Information .

Time is close to the same for a CR-1 and K-1 from filing of petition to approval for the visa. Big plus is once through POE the green card is sent with the CR-1.

Knowing what I know now I would have went the CR-1 route.

Me too.

Knowing what I know is way I did the CR-1, the first time

Typically CR-1 route i a little longer, i would have to say this is a wash. Green card when she arrives and it appears to be cheaper.

The one big problem is, you are already married to your wife and if something comes up ex.... Backround checks, previous marriage, still married, children, arrested. And if she can't get the visa, your stuck living in the PI or another country with your new wife. I'm just saying, if actually happens more often then I would have thought. I know we all have fiancee's and wives/husbands that are totally 100% honest, but maybe they forgot.

You left one out! Bakla.

The times are very similar. ??? So what would you do by yourself for an extra month or two? The same thing your doing now probably. We chose to get married there because we knew her family and most of her friends wouldn't be able to travel here for our wedding. And...not that many get to get married there. Most...just file the K1 and never get to see much of the PH except to run over and meet in person. There is a 10 day waiting period after getting your docs in the Ph to apply for your marriage license, so you'd have time to travel around and see the sights. Overall, the CR-1 is cheaper, but with wedding exps its a wash with us, but doing what you each want....Its a one time thing.

Actually, I did bother to click your link and read the page (which I've read before when I filed my wife's CR-1 last year). You're the one that couldn't answer a simple question for the OP, which was how long would it take to get a visa after marriage in Phils. Instead you posted a link that only shows the necessary steps one has to go through to get married there. The link you provided does not show processing times. Sure you can click around on that site and search for it...or you could have simply answered the question for him like many of the rest of us have done. Face it, you contributed absolutely no help to the OP.

Nice "fu" by the way...you're all class.
