We haven't moved from the NVC stage since July and it's killing me. I have been calling and calling and calling and it's the same thing. They gave us an RFE stating we sent in the wrong birth and police certificate. I spoke to a rep. and she told me they were going to forward it to a supervisor and that it would take up to 15 days. It's been more than 20 days now and my husband resent the orginal forms ( he requested them so they are original not copies and got them legalized how they wanted) they were receive on Wed. of last week and when i called yesterday they said they haven't received it and I was upset since we tracked the package. The rep. was also very rude and seemed annoyed with the calls. I wasn't in the mood either and I feel that if you are antisocial, then you shouldn't be working here and find a more isolated job. So I took none of her bs. I told her that it wasn't my fault that she was having a good day and that she needs to stop being such B.. because she doesn't make any decisions at the end of her day and her job is to respond to our inquiries in an appropriate manner. She got upset and didn't say much. I just hope she doesn't do anything to interfere with my case.

My husband on the other hand is to blame for this as well. I told his stubborn self to make sure he was sending everything he needed. He always uses his excuse of him not speaking or reading english. I spent 11 months with him in Argentina and I reminded him everyday the importance of him learning the english language. he didn't listen. He is just so stubborn. and no that he has no way out no he comes to me with his excuses. and i told him that I'm busy with school and family issues, since my father is severely ill, so i helped him get most of the information but I fell it was his responsibility to make sure that all the certificates were sent correctly. That's why we got the rfe in the first place. By now, our case could of been completed with him having his interview date. but no!

I haven't seen my husband since March and with all this conflicts at home and school, and looking for another job since mines was temp.(but my i-864 was approved) it's just so overwhelming. I just don't know what to do. I just want to leave everything and move on. Seems like we will never get this done. I don't want him here by december. I want him here now. this is just taking forever and it's frustrating to the point where I want to end my marriage. I know i made the choice of getting married at only 19, I'm 20 now, but since I'm stressing out so much, I just keep overthinking everything :(

Sorry you are going through all this hassle but hang in there, all this waiting will end soon. Don't give up, if you give up and cancel it now, all this pain and hassle would have been for nothing and you walk out with a loss.

Make sure you do follow the guide and send everything as they ask for, double check your paper, check it again and again.

the NVC was a nightmare for us as well, so many mistakes on their part, not ours. And just an FYI the NVC does not approve the i 864, they just check to make sure everything is in order, the final decision is up to the consulate officer at the embassy. Good luck.

I went through a similar situation with NVC stating that our certified copy was not accepted. I had to upload another copy and email it and copy the US Consulate in my country since they are familiar with our documents. Then I was so tired of calling and hearing the same thing about 15 days and bla bla bla. So after 20 days I sent the originals on the same day I sent (so they did not have the originals yet) they emailed me stating case was complete. However once they received the originals they change my completion date for one week later. Anyway...case completed on August 17th and I am waiting on an interview date. This is hard for any couple. But if it is real love you should not give up easy like that..... Good luck to all!!!

Were U rready to be married, how can U get frustrated to the point of divorce when really

the hassle & time is not hubbys fault U know?, to say U want to give up raises questions,

no doubt the journey is tiresome but if u LOVE ....its worth the wait, I know young ppl want

things happen like yesterday but hon dont be a quitter there R other hurdles in life U will

have to jump with him sickness, job loss, sick kids, precocious teens, affairs (maybe) & death

all this is a part of marriage. Immigration is a trial run , dont give up if its for real;

It's ok to vent, but please don't play the blame game. When you do you only hurt your marriage and you can never take back anything you say in anger to him. This process is hard on relationships. Make some friends that you trust to help you stay focused. My husband said last night, "I think having a drivers license for ID is the best way to go." I gave his stubborn behind the driving manual 3 months ago! I kept doing what I was doing and I didn't even acknowledge that he said it! Sometimes they have to realize things on their own and you can't spoon feed them everything.

Hang in there soon everything will come together.

No offense...but this right here is why we went the K1 route.

Is it hard? YES!

Does it get easier? Eventually.

Do I wish he was with me now in my arms every night? More than anything in this world.

But the thing of it is, we've known each other for 11 years. If this was going to tear us apart, maybe we weren't as strong as thought we are. Maybe it isn't the right choice for us. But in reality, its actually made us stronger. It's given us a prospective on our relationship that normal people don't get. I would NEVER want to spend the first year or two of marriage away from my husband. But I also know, it'd be worth it. My fiance is worth every penny we've spent on this so far. I've had to work 60 hours a week to be able to afford to go see him every 3 weeks. (He works but is saving his money since he can't work for a bit after he moves here).

I know when we are sitting in Montreal and they hand him the "Welcome to the USA" letter that I've read so much about, I am going to cry the best tears ever. The tears I've cried now, those are temporary. This pain, suffering and missing each other is temporary.

My favorite saying is "Everything is ok in the end. If its not ok, its not the end".

I'm not judging or going to tell you that you made the wrong decision. OP, I don't know you or your marriage. But what I do know, is that divorce is just as painful as this waiting. You are ALMOST to the end! Just a little bit more time. Hang in there! You have so many years to spend together. These few months are just a small piece of sand compared to the rest of your lives. You can do this. Have faith in yourself and your love and bond you and your husband share.

(Side Note: I've had to kick my fiance in the butt a few times to get the things done he needs to. But he finally told me what his mind set is. Its not easy for him either. He's struggling with leaving his family and a country he's known for his entire life. But he WANTS this. He WANTS us to be together. Its just a matter of organizing his thoughts and seeing the big picture)

Good luck and if you need to talk, message me. :) God Bless!
