Medical once appointment is scheduled?

Hi Everybody,

So I had my Medical 08/23/12

and i got case complete on 08/27/12

So i called up NVC and i got this really mean lady who was being very unpleasant.

I asked about the interview

just to see if they have a date yet (I knew it was a long shot but what do i have to lose)

I then mentioned my medical and

Then she got angry and told me I should have not done my medical when I did it and will probably have to re-do i,

Now I have spoken to people at the NVC previously who have said this is fine

Can I have your feedback VJ's

You may have jumped the gun just a bit in that a medical may be sitting at the embassy without a case. So they may have no clue who you are or what kinds of visa will be sought. But I doubt they throw the medical out, so should be just fine unless it gets misplaced because of no case file yet. In the case of a cr1, you're not speeding up the interview date by getting a medical early since NVC will assign it whether you have the medical or not. But it's out of the way at least.

NO. You'll only pay a hefty fee to talk to somebody in Scotland that doesn't have access to your case anyway. The number does not go to the embassy. It a call center. Just wait for the interview.

I am just scared they will say sorry we need an up to date medical or they can't find it come interview time

They will have your medical. After you get the appointment, call DOS to confirm the medical results are there. Wait for it all to come together. Calling the helpline is wasting money because they rarely have any useful info. They also are robots who don't solve problems or care about explanations. They can't go look for you medical report because they are in Scotland. Just back off and let things fall in place.

If it's any consolation, I had my medical on 15 August, case complete about a week later. So I'm in the same boat. I figure the results will just be at the embassy quicker, and hope it means the interview will get scheduled sooner.

Have you looked at any of the overall VJ statistics like this http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php?history=90

If you're average, looks like your interview could be in December based on the 3 month statistics search.

Or how about a timeline search http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/filterlist.php?cfl=

Pick detailed results to see user names, dates. Search by interview dates then looked at when their other things happened. Or find those interviewing in August or September and look at their profiles.

I called the DOS yesterday and they were very friendly and informative. They were able to tell me that the medical had been received, but our packet 3 was still probably not posted because of a possible back log? Medical was submitted to embassy on 9/11 and packet 3 was signed for on 8/27. The number to DOS is 1-202-663-1225. Good luck!
