She said everything went fine. But at the end, the lady just told her that was it. She said she will know if she passes or not in a week.

Is this normal?

We were expecting to know today.

I'm very nervous about this.

I'm at work, so sorry that i didnt put much detail into this post.

Without much detail, we can only speculate on very little.

Is it possible? Yes, it is very possible and that doesn't mean she's denied.

If you can give more details, perhaps the speculation can be a little different. What was she asked? Is there anything that could have been a red flag? Did they keep her passport?

Sorry to hear this. I agree with Celeste. However, more details are needed in order to formulate a reasoned response.

They did keep her passport.

She said they asked her simple questions about me and my family.

They asked hes some questions about my dad since he was my co-sponser. But after that she said "thats it, wait one week for your response"

I'm just worried because from what i'v heard, they let you know if you're approved or not at the interview, correct?

That is a little odd. Maybe they meant it would take about a week for her to receive her visa. It is not unheard of for someone to not get an approval right away, and the fact they kept her passport is a very good sign.

My fiancee said she asked her twice if she had to stick around for her responce and she said no, that she was done.

It's weird cause my fiancee says she actually got along with the interviewer and they were having a conversation and laughing.

I called the consulate and the guy told me, it wasnt in the computer yet.

He told me to wait two business days.

Yes its weird that they make her wait 1 week to know the answer. Probably they need to check some info and maybe that why the wait. Usually they let you know the same moment if you got the visa or not, unless something is suspicious to them or some documents are missing but like everyone says, the fact they kept her passport is a good sign :) So try to call the consulate to know whats going on and keep us updated! Hopefully its only an administrative thing. Good luck to you guys!!!

When my fiancé applied for a visitors visa a year or so back (i know, different) they approved him at the interview, kept his passport.. then a week later sent it back with a denial! Maybe they just have to check more info on her. I guess sometimes you just never know. If you think she did well on the interview, I'm sure everything will be fine. Easier said than done but try not to stress all weekend!!

My fiance had an interview on August 16th and the decision was not given right away. we waited for 10 days for the result. The result was finally Positive.

Our case was in INDia and our circumstance may be different than yours. But, i hope you will have the same results. good luck
