Wow not what I expected to see after being off VJ for a while but I can understand the stress and pain the process can cause. Like everyone is saying if your relationship can make it through the waiting and being apart then you can make it through almost anything. You both sound like you need a break.... but canceling???? The petitioner better think long and hard before ending the process because your wait will begin again.

I am sorry for your current heartbreak and pray all will be reconciled before major decisions are made regarding your case.

We had a tough road so far.

After more than a year, distance tires you so much. Every little thing can turn up to be a huge thing.

I am stressful too and took off my stress on him sometimes. That exhausted him and the distance didn't help at all.

I'm trying to make him understand that when we finally be together, everything will be better. But he is sure, it won't. I can't do much to convince him.

Being appart, isn't really the true us. We're just two people from each side of the world, using technology to be together.

For what is worth, many people here have their better half on the other side of the world. The 'lucky' ones are in Canada or Mexico, but even being geographically close is still a world apart in some cases because of how the rules are.

It might seem like unfair, tough and that it is a 'special' case, but we all here had 'special' cases. This process tries the best inside us and if anything if works as an endurance test.

Me and my fiance have had problems before as well. But I think it is part of this whole process. We all know how difficult it is to have long distance relationships and how hard it might be for the person who is in the foreign country to move from theirs to ours...

If the distance and "being apart" is the root of the situation, take the advice that was given to me when Mrs. T-B.-to-be was pulling away: One of you needs to beat it the hell over to visit the other, NOW. Drop everything. Go NOW. Expenses be damned -- swim the ocean if you have to. Go, and go NOW.

Conversely, if there are fundamental differences in the relationship -- such as a lifestyle or character or financial or permanent situational issue that disquiets either one of you -- a breakup is saving you each a lot of time.

However, you indicate that distance and stress are the chief (or only) factors. In that event, see first paragraph above, and DO IT.

Note: Mrs. T-B.-to-be came here and became Mrs. T-B.; she will do her fingerprints for the N-400 (citizenship) next week; and we both just comforted 19-month-old Mini-Bone, who woke up and wanted Mommy & Daddy. Had I not gone to Ecuador when I was urged to, none of this would be happening now.
