Hey guys, I want to know if I am able to translate my wife's birth certificate. We did have them apostilled in Ecuador, so there's no problem with that. The instructions say that the document has to be translated and show the translator's certification that he or she is competent in the foreign language to be able to translate to English.

Does that mean writing up a statement saying that I'm fluent in both languages and have translated the mentioned document?? Or is it something more official???

Nope, you're right. If you are competent in both languages, you can translate it yourself AND add the certification yourself. I did it, no problem.

K-1 Visa Timeline AOS Timeline

- Aug 31st, 2011 - Mailed I-129F package - May 29th, 2012 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP package

- Apr 13th, 2012 - Visa received - Aug 24th, 2012 - Green Card received

ROC Timeline

- May 19th, 2014 - Mailed ROC package to CSC

- Aug 8th, 2014 - Green Card received

N-400 Timeline

- Dec 29th, 2021 - Filed online. Got notice that biometrics will be reused.

- Now waiting...
