Here I am stressing and being ####### again... Anyway, I went out and bought a prong folder (blue because it's my husband's favorite color), sheet protectors, and dividers. Do you think it will be okay for my husband to send the prong folder with dividers and sheet protectors in the mail to the embassy in Albania?

I think it's highly unnecessary.

I had to stand there and watch them strip all the stickies, labels etc out of my packet, and they don't like docs to be in the plastic sleeves---they just have to be taken out.

For the interview, suggest that you use some type of accordian folder that is very easy to get into quickly.

In Oz, the rule with DCF was NO PLASTIC PROTECTORS....prongs will just annoy them because they'll have to undo EVERY one.

I say...no.

For the interview, suggest that you use some type of accordian folder that is very easy to get into quickly.

avoci,

She had an 'accordian' folder. So did I. It was wonderful.

Prong clips and plastic sheet protectors are great for presentations and storage, but they're hell to take documents out of. And your documents will be taken out.

heheh.. wonderful just sounds so... affectionate. What color one did you find, Yodrak? I think the lady at our village stationer's thought I was absolutely mad, in there every other day for dozens of euros worth of supplies from her. Hey... she *did* go on a long vacation after we were all done..... (I may have supported the passport photo guy and family for a few months too).

meauxna,

Brownish-orange with a lot of black mottling - kind of camouflagy and very old looking. Something I'd had laying around for years (maybe decades!), don't know where it originally came from.

Okay, so I see that everybody says accordian folder, no prongs, and no sheet protectors... But everybody is talking about how they want to take the papers out so fast and the lady will chew you out if they aren't easy to access. My husband will be MAILING in packet 3. I think an accordian folder might be a bit to bulky???? Am I wrong? I totally understand accordian for the interview, but what about MAILING in packet 3?

I would just clip them all together with a big bulldog clip. Well, that is what I have actually always done. :)

Point is, if you put it in a binder, the first thing they will have to do is take all of your work apart. Now they're annoyed with you. (just kidding!!)

Jsut stack 'em up in the order asked for, staple multiple pages of a same document together (or use paperclips if you're nervous about staples) and clip the whole puppy together.

Use the accordian for the interview, and make sure you know where everything in there is (or your husband, rather, if you won't be there). They need to look at the original of every photocopied thing you've submitted.

ok... Sooooo...I mailed off my stuff (for the packet 3) to my husband in Albania today (through DHL for $120!!!!!). I guess it was so costly dute to my "analness" (haha). Anyway, I broke down and got a plastic 13 divided accordian folder (blue). I went ahead and labeled the sections for everything that goes in (including my husband's stuff). So hopefully he'll have the package by midweek, get it in the mail to the embassy before the week is over, and hopefully they'll have it by early the following week! I am PRAYING everything is correct, there are no problems, and for a speedy interview!!!
