When you know how much your representative is in water you need to stop reading.

No, I stop reading when people become extreme and ridiculous.

You'll see I continued to respond to your other, more rational comments.

You are smart guy.... should not that same be applicable to sitting president and should he not disclose his details... details the American Public has been asking for.

Keeping with the tradition of financial disclosure that a certain cadidate's father started, Obama's tax returns are available for all to see. Romney recognizes that financial disclosure is vital for candidates for President and Vice President. This is why he provided over 20 years worth of tax returns to McCain's campaign in 2008 when he was vetted for the VP spot and which is why he required all VP candidates for his ticket in 2012 to submit several years of tax returns to him.

Spell it out for me, since I'm such a dunderhead. What information would you expect to glean from his transcripts and how would this reflect on who he is right now as a president? Why is this data as important as having access to the tax returns of a candidate, which can tell us more up-to-date and relevant information about his financial probity and what potential conflicts of interest he might have?

I, unfortunately, don't see anyone rushing to answer this question.

"When you know how much your representative is in water you need to stop reading responding."

His BC was made public prior to his being elected. As were his tax returns.

More docs were asked from him and he selected what he wanted to make public and when he wanted to make them public.

So he is in no position to ask another candidate to disclose any of their documents.

They can choose when to make public and what to make public.

Neither one is my candidate and unfortunately neither one pays my bills either. I have to pay my bills ...lol.

Ok I m back on VJ now.

See my response to Big Dog's post same applies.... there cannot be seprate rules one for him one for all other candidates.

He decided what to disclose and when to disclose same should be applicable for other candidates as well.

Dems still continue to pound Romney for his Tax returns...should they not leave that to IRS if there was any problems in his tax returns or not?

Perhaps you're correct. Dems should leave that to IRS.

What really surprises me though, is that nobody in the GOP is asking for the tax returns. I thought that the entire slant of the GOP would be fiscal conservatism and all that good stuff and in the end, they are even worse than the Dems.

More docs were asked from him ...

Who asked for these additional docs? Aside from the birthers who falsely call every document he produces a fake? I mean really, birther requests are not something I would expect anyone to take seriously. Birthers are a mentally ill fringe. Who gives a ** what they want?

By contrast, well over half of Americans agree that Romney should release more than two years of tax returns while only a third of Americans feel that 2 years worth of tax returns are enough.

Who said anything about anyone paying your bills?

It is standard procedure to release tax returns. Romney demanded it of his own people. Romney doesn't abide by "well if there was anything wrong, the IRS would deal with it!" ... not when it comes to the tax returns of others.

Here is what i don't understand. If I were running for anything public on a platform based entirely on my business acumen and extraordinary managerial ability, I would not wait for anyone to ask for my tax returns. I would publish them on the front page of every newspaper in the country because I would consider that to be a major evidence to my claim!

As I said before, they do not want the American people to find out that the man who wants to be president keeps his money on off-shore accounts with foreign banks as a means to evade taxes.

Like I've said numerous times - he could be hiding nothing. It's entirely possible that his tax returns would show us nothing. The fact that he is so adamantly refusing to show them is what's so bizarre. Why take something so seriously and go to such lengths to hide if there was nothing TO hide? Why not shut up your nay-sayers, show your tax returns, say "I told you so!" and move on?
