I-130 proof of relationship

My husband and I are in a sort of odd situation. We got married while in college, but he had to leave due to his student visa expiring. I was unable to file for a visa for him for several years while I finished college, as I had no income as a student. He also has no income as a thus-far unsuccessful entrepreneur. After graduating, I did manage to find employment, so this solved the income problem.

My problem is, as we've never actually lived together, and have in fact been in different countries for pretty much the entirety of our marriage, we have no shared assets (on paper), no shared leases, nothing... and on top of that, while my family is fully aware that he exists and was initially very supportive, they've decided that he's been gone too long and I should move on. So I don't think I'll be getting any sworn affadavits from them. We can get one from my husband's best friend, however.

The only other evidence I have to offer is 6 years worth of communications. We talk nearly everyday, usually for hours on the phone. We also have extensive emails and chat records from that time. I'll be going to visit him soon :D , so i'll have evidence of having seen each other recently.

Does anyone else here have experience submitting the application with this sort of evidence? Am I likely to run into issues with this?

Joint-assets are important. You can add him in your US bank account even he is in India. Some bank would allow this option. ( I did when I was in India ). You should get at least 2-3 sworn affidavits. It could be at least one from your side ( could be your friend/anyone in your family who is aware about this relationship ). Photos together are important.

In fact, most important thing that you have to do: Get together in person, it really would make a lot of different. I mean, with above normal doc requirement, you can get approval for I-130, NVC. But main role would be played at the time of interview. By that time, you guys really have to collect alot of evidences, joint assets, insurance, etc etc.

He may have some insurance in India, where he can add you as beneficial in his insurance policy, so many other things together.

Better to collect all necessary doc, then file I-130.

Good luck you guys!

mm I think you should be okay. I know a lott of people who applied from US while their spouses are india. Usually, the couple gets married in India and then the USA person comes back to USA and the Indian citizen goes through the interview in India. Most of these people dont have any joint assets. And they get approved. You can use phone bill to show that you talked everyday. Even chats will be good. lots and lots of pictures. Wedding pictures will be great too. Just try to send as much stuff as you can.

Could you go to the interview with him in India? That might help.
