The fundamentals of the economy were sound up until mid-2008, according to the administration at the time. They could not possibly be lying to the American people. Then the market started to slide and hit rock bottom in 2009, ergo the crash belongs to no one but Obama.

To cut taxes just for the sake of being able to say to your constituents you cut taxes is absurd and reckless. Even though Bush 1 said he wouldn't do it, he did the right thing and raised taxes. Damn the constituents it was what was right for our country at that time. I admire him for that, at that particular time, he put the people and country first.

I agree completely. As I have said many times, I would have liked for Obama to let the Bush tax cuts expire as scheduled. Didn't happen. Unfortunately, letting them expire would have reduced his odds of being re-elected. Until the American people start rewarding responsible leaders with their support, we won't see much in terms of fiscal responsibility. I mean, you have the cut,cut,cut Republicans running up a fcuking #### storm over enacted spending cuts that they themselves have voted in support of. So they're running on spending and spending cuts at the same time. How weird is that?

The bus didn't just have a flat. It was running in reverse downhill heading for a cliff at a rather rapid speed. New driver showed up made sure the bus stopped before falling off the cliff, put on a new tire and started get the bus going up that hill again. And all that while some got off the bus - after the tire was changed - standing in front of it playing a game of chicken.
