Who here feels like they could have done things differently if they knew all about the Visa Journey earlier? My husband and I got married in Feb 2012 & filed the I-130 in July...then we got to learn that there was something like a K1 visa which could have been less of a hustle!!!! But oh well,we're already married. It's not like we can be unmarried then file for a K1 then re-marry,you know? Anyway, I guess there's a reason for everything. But if we knew about the K1 visa...... Meanwhile we're waiting for the NOA2.

You are really better off with the I-130! My fiance wanted us to get married but I insisted upon the K1 route, thinking i researched it enough and knew it all  . I found this site after we filed for the K1 and now I feel we should've walked down the aisle instead. But what is done is done and in the spirit of my wise fiance's advice - I try to live life with little or no regrets. I'm making the most of the waiting time - compliments of VSC - like downsizing my possessions, paying up bills, spending more time with friends and slowly but surely wrapping up my life as I know it.

Welcome to VJ and good luck with the rest of your journey (F)

actually, if we know about VJ before I come to US, we will choose spouse visa instead of fiancee visa,,,there's so many thing to do at adjust status and while waiting for permitt you can't work or go outside US, at least if you wait at home country you'll still working or do whatever routine you do, believe me waiting while do nothing is so frustrating,,so spouse visa is better

We did a K-1 and had no trouble, but I agree with PB and the others that considering where you are applying, a spousal visa may be easier for you. Good luck and welcome.

I'm glad I didn't know anything about the visa process/VJ until I'd done what was intended for me to do...marry my husband! Fiance visa is a more expensive route and it isn't processed as fast as they claim. K1s have a bigger disadvantage, because they are unable to work and are rely upon their spouse longer.

For us, the CR1 was the better way. My wife been here now for almost a month and she received her SS# and GC in less than 3 weeks. No other stuff to do. Plus it's a little cheaper too. That extra time it took was used to prepare all the evidence we needed. I won't lie about the waiting. It's hard, but we talked every single day while we were apart by phone or skype or oovoo. Those chat logs and phone bills will come in handy later. I would advise you to read over the CR1 process thoroughly. And than again. It's helps since we only made one mistake on our paperwork which we could have avoided.

Stay Blessed on your CR1 Journey
