First, you schedule the K-1 interview yourself after paying the visa application fee. You can generally do this within 24 hours after you pay the fee. The date you schedule the interview depends on availability that the embassy has on hand. I believe the embassy will send you an email and appointment confirmation letter at the address you provide after you schedule. You can schedule online or over the phone. Many find it easy to do online though. Below is the link to the scheduling website. Also, check out the links in my signature as they will be useful to you when you are ready to move forward with scheduling, interview, and other procedures.

The NVC will send an email/letter to the USC petitioner once the petition has been received by NVC. You can actually call NVC about a week or two after your petition is approved to obtain the MNL case number. You don't have to wait for the letter to get this. With the case number, passport, and cash, you can pay the fee at BPI and schedule the interview. The embassy is supposed to send out a confirmation packet with instructions when they receive your petition. I am not sure that they still do this, and I have heard of cases of people not even receiving it until after the interview! I guess it might have something to do with Philpost. You can always contact them about two weeks after you know NVC has forwarded it. Anyway, the embassy does have the packet instructions available for download. That is in the first link in my signature. It will take you to the embassy page to download the PDF file in English or Tagalog. Follow everything it says as it lists everything you need for interview presentation and requirements. You're welcome!
