After you have paid the fee you have to wait a minimuim of 4 hours. Then after that you can either schedule a interview online or call them.

With the new setup for paying you have to print out and bring the deposit slip from the embassy website, it states right on there how many days its valid for. Once you have paid the fee the embassy says you can paid after 4 hours. When my wife paid we had to wait 24 hours before we were allowed to schedule.
