this happened to us a year ago, my fiance filed the petition September 2011. We never researched and we just relied to the website of what his friend gave us. I forgot what that was. All the while we thought we just have to wait for a notice about 5-6 months after he submitted it, then we're good to go for the interview. We didn't know about this NOA1. I asked help and some people were saying it might be my fiance did not really file the petition, in which I totally disagree cause I know and trust him very well than any stranger. and so we talked about it and found out papers that he submitted were lacking. the money order was not cashed in and he called USCIS and they told him they could not find our application. no NOA1, no RFEs, nothing. my fiance filed the petition again last july with complete, detailed, well researched documents, and yes, we got NOA1 after 6 days thru email and text, money order was cashed in and the hard copy arrived about 2 weeks after. and now we're on what they call the waiting game. a lot of time wasted but what can we do? we have to move forward and get going! so what you can do now is to read everything about the K-1 process from the link provided above. READ EVERYTHING so you'll understand and you'll know if your fiance is really genuine or not. but don't lose hope! keep trying! patience is a virtue and always remember, Life is a beautiful struggle! good luck!

My fiance told me he already filed the I-129f and he send all the requirements.but until now he never receive noa1.is it that true you need to wait for months to receive the noa1?

I received my NOA1 after 2 weeks of filling 129F I think it depends of the lock box address were in vermont

I also tried to call the USCIS before my fiance did and they were not able to answer my queries since it's my fiance who knew about all the details that they wanted to ask (about the content of the application), that's why I asked him to call them. So in your case, try harder on asking him. and if he still makes excuses, then you definitely know what that means. move on. hope u find solution soon! be safe!

He went to the immigration of hawaii today and the officer told him just wait...the reason he gave to him it might be his surname thats why until now he never receive noa1 his surname starts in letter Y.i dont know.if its the truth...

So what's the point of asking question here in VJ if you don't trust them? And first of all why you think they lie to you? They won't get anything back aren't they? no offense...i'm just saying!!

plus if your just missing document/s most likely they just you an RFE not ignore your petition then send everything back to u guys. UNLESS your fiance just send the application and the money order or check and NOTHING ELSE...then that's totally different issue.

Might I suggest what I (Mr Pangga) and She (Ms Sunshine) have done. Create a Profile to be SHARED by both of you, so we can quickly help the both of you even faster. This has worked very well for both of us so are informed and on the same page daily with what is going on in the K1 Visa process. Also we spend an average of 2 to 8 hours everyday reading and researching here and sharing links together too.

I hope it is an honest mistake on his part, but something doesn't sound right. He should have received his NOA1 by now. The application should have been sent to Texas, not California. He should have provided you with all of the information about what he included in your application as well as have some sort of receipt when the package was mailed. I had the woman at the post office take a pic of me with the package, just as a momento of the beginning of this entire process. I also sent her a copy of everything that I included in the package. I mailed our package on July 18, 2012, it arrived July 20, 2012 and got the NOA1 on July 26, 2012. The check was cashed a few days later.

This is a very tough we all do things differently. I know that if you are on the wrong site and you can make many mistakes. If he is playing with your heart, that is just plain wrong....

Maybe I am coming from a very different relationship, but am I the only person who thinks it is a problem if you have to question if he has even filed? And you can't have a conversation about it without inducing anger? This is marriage we are talking about here! If you have doubts about this phase, what doubts will enter your relationship when it comes to moving? Money? and the countless other things that come up in marriage?

If he really has filed correctly he would have needed signed documents from you. He should have sent the packet and the money to Texas NOT California. If his intentions are good and he is just confused and frustrated, maybe you could suggest he join this site and read read read the info so that he can file correctly and you can begin your lives together.

Did he make a check or money order to US Department of Homeland Security and spelled it as is and not USDHS or DHS? Did he pay the right filing fee of $340? Oh and what happened to the G-325A and Letter of Intent or some statement that you are both free to marry, these are required, completed and signed? :wacko:

sorry if that's how u take it, but it's not about them lying to me. I know they get nothing from helping me but u just don't know how I felt reading posts that my fiance might not have filed the application, hope you were in my shoe. I was really thinking that it could be possible, but then again I just kept my positive thoughts open and telling myself, no he could not do that to me. the entire thing that they suggested me to do I did it all, to call USCIS, email and about all the other forms. I don't want to go into details but I just know I owe a lot from the people here in vj.

with regards to what he sent, he sent everything but nothing anything from me cause as I've said, we never researched about this k1-process. and that's a lesson learned. I don't know why we didnt get RFE or why we didnt get the whole package back, cause again when my fiance called USCIS, there were no papers from us. and one of the vj member said it might be it got lost in the mail. hope I made myself clear.
