filing I-129f

My fiance told me he already filed the I-129f and he send all the requirements.but until now he never receive noa1.is it that true you need to wait for months to receive the noa1?

How Long ago did he file? it can take up to 30 dyas to receive your Noa1 in the mail.i received mine after 2 weeks

It should be within 2 weeks for check to clear. If paperwork is in good order it will show on USCIS in initial review. Return receipt will show it was delivered. NOA1 original hard copy should be recieved in a month.

Give us some more details so that we can help. How long ago did he file. Did he pay by check? Was it cashed?

He told me that he just mailed all the requirements even the payment but that was last year..they told him to complete all the requirements.last july 2012 he already complete all the requirements what they told him.but until now he never receive noa1.even.the receipt of payment..as far as i know he send the i-129f to california and my fiancee lives in hawaii..

Honestly i dont know if he tell me the truth that's why i register to this forum to get some idea..i am from philippines.

He went to the immigration of hawaii today and the officer told him just wait...the reason he gave to him it might be his surname thats why until now he never receive noa1 his surname starts in letter Y.i dont know.if its the truth...

I received my NOA1 text/email 6 days after they received my packet then I received the hard copy in the mail about a week later. So to receive everything it took about two weeks. I sent my packet June 21, 2012. Your fiance should've received his NOA1 already. And he shouldn't have sent it to California he was supposed to send it to the Dallas Lockbox in Dallas, Texas. If he said it was sent to California then maybe he sent it to Dallas, Texas and he received his NOA1 saying it was sent to California and now you're waiting for the approval the NOA2. Could that be the case? If so it takes about 4-5 months but California has been faster approving in 3-4 months. But if he indeed sent his petition to California then I believe he should be getting it back in the mail.

Just saw that you said the check wasn't cashed yet so you are still waiting for the NOA1. If he sent it to California then he sent it to the wrong place. He is supposed to sent it to the Dallas Lockbox then they send it to either California or Vermont. Also the surname has nothing to do with your NOA1. They receive your petition cash your check and send you a NOA1 saying it was received and where it was sent they do not check your information yet. After this first step with the NOA1 you typically wait 4-5 months then you receive a NOA2 or a RFE (request for more evidence).

Honestly i dont know if he file my petition..i am confuse why it takes so long and never receives any receipts nor noa1 if he take an action...maybe i am just waiting nothing.thank you to all your reply..

I wouldn't necessarily just stop trusting him. I am a big believer in trust. Long distance relationships are very hard and trust is a key factor in all relationships but even more so in long distance relationships. You should always trust your fiance until of course he gives you a reason not to. Maybe he just didn't do his research properly and he sent the packet to California if that is the case then most likely the case was lost in the mail. But my question to you is did you fill out any information? I remember when I filled out the information for my fiance I had to ask him a bunch of stuff. I needed his parent's names, birth dates, cities of birth as well as his employment history for the last 5 years and also his address for the last 5 years that was to fill out the G-325A and then he had to sign it and send it back to me. If your fiance went through the process and did all of this (this is just one paper that required that information). He also would've needed evidence that you two have met in the last two years such as passport stamps, boarding passes, itineraries, photos as well as a lot of other stuff. If he did all that then you should feel confident that he sent out the petition. Bc frankly if I did all that paperwork for my fiance you better bet I'm sending that packet out. lol Here is a link of what he would've needed to do. It took me about a month to get all the paperwork together and send it out. If he did send out the petition and didn't do any of this you can be certain you will receive an RFE which means you will have to send all the information later.

Hopefully if he accidentally sent the packet to California he made a copy and can send it to the Dallas Lockbox.

If for some reason he did not send out this packet well then I guess its better to know this now then marrying someone leaving your family behind for them and seeing what kind of person they really are after. But think positively and hope that he just made a mistake sending it to California.
