Ummm. Weird. Initial Review should be the status that everyone has after the peition was accepted by the service center. It just means that they are ready to process it. It doesn't mean that they are actually processing it. Mine has been in initial review since June 7th (my priority date).

..."just" meaning same day as you posted here I hope. I have seen it with someone else before it either RFE or Approval. If you wonder why online case status where the radio button stuck at "initial review"?. It's because they don't update this part after few days later, weird but true. To get most update info is to sign up with USCIS for some reason this 2 don't link.

Well, have you recently submit an address changes? this could trigger the message too.

Yes he just got the text an hour ago. I called USCIS but they couldn't give me any info because I am not the U.S citizen, but the lady on the phone said that if my husband called she can tell him. She also said it may take a while to 'update' (whatever she means by that). My husband is going to call as soon as he can to find out what is going on..,..

Haven't changed address....so hoping it means we have been approved?! Fingers crossed....

If you haven't submitted any changes since your NOA1 than it 99.9% good news. Well good luck on the rest of your journey.

My husband called and apparently it was just because our Alien Registration Number or something has changed? They couldn't give us a reason why.....

Looks like we're still waiting...

Based on other cases, seems like that's often a precursor to an approval, so keep the hope!
