AllyinChicago , have you still not gotten any response to approval letter ? if not then i suggest you send a letter to California service center, and express your disappointment in letter. as well as state how many times you have call and what response do you get everytime you call in. if no 1 has touch your case yet then. then request them to expedite your case... n since you mentioned here that one of you is divorced..if it is you who divorced or you have bring your first spouse into US then there will be delay in process. as for security and fraudness it takes almost a year to approve.. sorry i m not trying to lose hope on you.. however you still have to provide them strong bonds with your current spouse.. you have children ? or u r pregnant ? or anything that represent you both r truely have married ..

Also trying i-129f wouldnt work now in my view..since you have waited this long i would suggest not to file an i-129f bcuz if you do and by chance it approved before your i-130 then in the end you will be paying extra $$$$$ for settling a permeant status for ur spouse.. I suggest you just send letter to California Service center and write down all you can and attach all documentation that you need to provide your health issue and request expedition.. You will definatly get response within 10 working days from CSC by email.. Hope it does..i did same when i pass 5 months..take care n wish you get approval sooner

I just had our first baby last week (finally)!!! I plan on just waiting for the I-130, I do realize the i-129f would have been better if i did it same time as the i-130...thank you for your idea to write a letter to csc, it's worth a try..and baby has my husband's name on birth certificate with his last name, i hope that helps

Because this process drives me a little nuts, I've gone in and identified every receipt number that filed a I-130 on the same day I did. There were 74 filed that day (July 31), and as of earlier today there were 30 applications that had been dealt with - either to issue an RFE or an approval, including the two numbers right before mine! I hope this means that an approval is right around the corner!

No, not a genius, I just started with my number and went down one by one, making note of which numbers were for the I-130, until I started seeing applications with PD July 30, and then up number by number, doing the same thing, until I got to August 1.

I will say that based on my obsessive checking, it seems that the A# change preceding and approval is the real deal - I've noted some where the A# was changed and then a few days later they get an approval, and others where the A# change comes in the morning and then the approval in the afternoon!

I'm traveling to Guatemala tomorrow for a week for work, and I'm hoping that will keep me too busy to be obsessively checking things, and that by the time I get back we'll have an approval. If not, and all the numbers around me are approved, then I'll start calling.

Congrats to you guys!!!!!! Our NOA1 date is July 16th, we've noticed that some early, mid & late July filers at Vermont have been getting approved. My husband and I are so TIRED of waiting; it's worn us both out. Talk about changing all our plans!!! This seems to be too much of a random process, huh?

Best of luck to us. All the best in the NVC stage!!!
