Farm tenant arrested after burglars shot was 'plagued by break-ins'

A farm tenant and his wife who were arrested after two suspected burglars were shot at their isolated home had been the victims of a number of robberies. The man is believed to have grabbed a legally owned gun after they were disturbed by the break-in early yesterday.

Defending what is yours should be a no brainier. Someone enters your home illegally for foul intent not only should you kill them, you should be given a reward for ridding the planet of scum.

Liberals want to suppress Gun ownership and systematically deny us our constitutional right of Gun ownership by making us show an ID when buying guns.

And in closing the only mistake Bernhard Goetz made was not administering a fatal shot into each of the street vermin that attacked him.

How exactly does having to show an ID deny you of your constitutional right to own guns. Do you not have an ID?

For that they dont need to charge someone and drag them to jail.

Pls read charges were dropped.....!!!!!!!!!!

I don't presume to know what the police should or shouldn't do when confronted with a unique situation. Perhaps you shouldn't either.

The police do have to determine self defence.

Exactly !

Everyone goes to jail in this exact situation, and the innocent are released when the police finish their investigation.

That's how it works (usually) in the UK.

I've tried telling that fella it's different in the UK than in the USA, but he doesn't want to get it.

and That's Ok.

AHHH Exactly..... I agree 100% so then you agree having to show an ID to vote is not a problem either then ?

Sure. For the same reason. We can't just assume that every adult in the US is eligible to own a gun (or vote). Just going by statistics, about 1 in 20 or so would not be.

Anyway, showing an ID is a minor inconvenience at most. Not showing an ID could lead to much worse.

That's how it works in most countries. It's interesting because "stand your ground laws" evolved from the "castle doctrine", which came directly from English common law. It's basically due process (through the legal system) versus inconvience. I'm not sure the outcome was really in doubt.

I am unsure why Harsh wanted to belabour the point about the fella with the cricket bat, though. There were not enough similarities to be useful, IMO.
