Farm tenant arrested after burglars shot was 'plagued by break-ins'

A farm tenant and his wife who were arrested after two suspected burglars were shot at their isolated home had been the victims of a number of robberies. The man is believed to have grabbed a legally owned gun after they were disturbed by the break-in early yesterday.

Isn't Britain so wonderful where one is jailed for protecting their proerty, where a Burglar who attacks your family ties them up is spared a prison sentence and the person who is trying to protect their family from burglar get a prison sentence instead.

Yep its a lesson for us here to make sure we protect our civil rights at all cost.

Nowdays its unfortunate but ppl will believe anything and everything if they are told it is for their safety and sceurity.

Just look at TSA ppl have given up their search and seizure right.

Saw an incident happened other day where a mother was made to wait 47 mins coz she did not wanted the breast milk to go thru radition, even the when TSAs own site said it was ok as breast milk was considered medical necessasity the dumb TSA manager would not let it go thru.

Finally they made her throw it away and make her miss her flight.

robbers? who cares about the robbers? gun laws is different in the UK - you shoot somebody there whilst protecting yer property, everyone goes to jail. property owner might be released, if the 'law folk' decide a bunch o things ...

huh.... gun laws are you kidding???

The guy who protected his family with a bat....a cricket bat is serving in the jail and the burglar who tied up his family was spared the sentence.

As far as I m aware bat is not a weapon it is a sporting equipment and it is not illegal to own one.

I guess you just read the headlines.... the article also revives an older case on which there was huge controversy and infact there were lot of supporter for this guy.

A guy walks (I think Mr.Husain)in to his home were a knife weidling burglar had tied up his family and to protect his family he used the cricket bat and beat the burglar with the bat.

The case went to court and final verdict was the court gave like 2 1/2 years of prison time to Mr. Husain I guess coz he was not humane to burglar and burglar was spared from any prison time

So back to the point in Britain u can be prisoned to protect your family and property while intruder could walk away with no sentence.

To be fair, that man chased a robber into a neighboring property and along with another man began beating him repeatedly. I do think one could argue he overstepped his bounds once he gave chase through the neighborhood.

I know they beat this guy up real good and gave him some good concusions too but the guy had broken into their house tied up his family and was threatening them.

You got to give Mr.Husain some slack he was trying to protect his family and it was not him who started the whole thing.

Can you imagine if you were in Mr.Husain's place.
