What are grounds for denial if 2 people are married and want a visa?

1) Fraudulent marriage. (Not enough supporting evidence of a long term relationship)

2) Not enough financial support in the US.

is that all ? even age gap not matter as long as marriage is legal and everything else is good?

No that is not all. There is no "all".

The decision to issue a visa, ANY visa is entirely within the discretion of the issuing consulate. They can deny or approve a visa for ANY reason.

The most common reason is if they believe the marriage was formed for the purpose of immigration benefits. Age may be an indicator of that if the age gap is not in accordance with local custom. Denials are OFTEN seen in some consualtes for age differences and not in others. Although the denial will NOT be for "age difference" the denial will be for an "unpetitionable relationship" or lack of evidence. ANY reason, differences in age, religion, ability of a woman to have children, etc. can and have been reasons for denial.

If you are asking "Are we guaranteed a visa if we get married?" the answer is NO. But you would still be married and still have legal obligations to your wife.

Incidentally IR-1s are for couples married MORE THAN 2 years when the visa issued and comes with a 10 year green card. CR-1 is for couples married LESS THAN 2 years when the visa is issued, comes with a 2 year green card and requires Removal of Conditions after 2 years.

Switching from a K-1 to a CR-1 requires you start all over after withdrawing the K-1. CR-1s generally take longer to be issued than K-1s
