Hi all!

Here's some promising news. I got touched today with an update. My case is now "pending" at the CSC! I guess my email a couple of weeks ago helped. This is the first change since the transfer notice in September.

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On March 2, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. Added note my case was finally touched today, and I got three emails, finally it is at the CSC!!!!! (only took it 6 months to get there).. Looks like someone has put a torch under their seats at CSC!!

That's the exact same email I got today. I had also been waiting since 14th September! I also got a reply from the email I sent them. The reply arrived this afternoon and said that I am waiting for the FBI name check, which they "have NO control over". It's something!

I'm kinda upset, I found out that we are pending FBI clearance. I went ahead and applied for EAD. My father in law is really ill, I just hope everything works out for us.

How did you find out about the FBI check? Did you receive an email?

everyone goes through this, just some longer than others, and is very rare for it to last more than a few months.

I called to ask for an expedite, they gave me the information. I am hoping it won't be too long, if it turns out we have to return to see my father in law, I guess we will go get emergency AP.

as far as i am aware, USCIS cannot expedite due to delays caused by FBI namecheck, they can only expedite their own processes in their applications. but good luck to you should you pursue, I am sure many here would be interested to see what may work.

They said they had to wait for FBI clearance, they have no control. When I called to ask for expedite I had no idea it was going through FBI clearance.

Reason I applied for EAD is we need extra money to help pay medical costs that f-i-l is needing.
