You're in the Adjustment of Status forum, and it looks like you're interested in CSC transfers for K-1 visas. I was in that boat, too, about a year ago, but this thread isn't going to give you much information about that. The K-1 forum should have tons of info for you!

I wonder does anyone know why a K1 application would transfered from one center to another?

I filed at the NSC, but it was transfered to the CSC almost immediately...Since Cali is the slowest it looks like my wait will be even longer

hi there novelyn & gragg! it seems that we're on the same boat, we filed ours at NSC too and was transferred to CSC..i've checked the uscis site and i saw there that NSC is not processing I129F, so probably this is the reason why we're transferred..though im not yet sure about this..can somebody there tell us why?!!

Hi Rea, Hi Novelyn & Grag,

we filed our K1 also with NSC which was forwarded to CSC as well since NSC is not dealing with these applications. It does not necessarily means that it will take longer. In some cases it is even faster than when you filed with CSC directly. I would not hang on the update information of the uscis webpage because in our case we got the interview already even though the webpage says they were working on cases from january (we filed in june 06).

I guess the only thing you really can do with all this buerocracy is just wait and be surprise!

Question for you guys... if we were to have received an RFE, would we have received it prior to transfer?

Or a better question... how many did NOT receive an RFE before transfer and wound up receiving one after transfer?

Unfortunately that may not be true. There have been cases where CSC issues rfe's. but they are usually clerical and once received the green card is issued.

JenT, you might find the answer to your question from our experience...

Our EAD and AOS applications were received on 10/10/06. We got an RFE for I-485 on 10/23/06 and thanks

to efficient IRS (they took a MONTH to send Tax Transcripts but claim to do that within 10 bus. days), we were only able to reply to the RFE by 11/30/06 (thats when USCIS officially received it). The irony is that everything was included in the application anyway yet they RFE'd us!

At a recent infoPass, we were told that our 90 day countdown for the EAD didnt actually start until USCIS received the RFE on 11/30/06.

So, finally today we got notification that they had ordered the card production for the EAD.

But thats not it, we have received YET ANOTHER RFE, this time from CSC and guess what, its for Affidavit of Support I-864 AGAIN! They want the I-864 all over again as if we never sent it! We can't believe this is happening...

Ofcourse we are relieved to finally get the EAD but so mad at USCIS...

I think they are not too happy with the income levels as we were almost on the edge but...so we are sending a new I-864 along with a co-sponsor this time, God bless my sister-in-law for being our co-sponsor.

Ok, that answers it then... we're not 'free and clear' of RFE worry just because we've ben transferred. I accept that, but will still keep my fingers crossed. Thanks everyone!!

I think there are some things that MSC doesn't send RFEs for, as well. For instance, if for some reason, you don't send in your I-693A Vaccination Supplement (like we didn't -- long story), I think MSC assumes you'll bring it in for your interview. Since CSC doesn't conduct interviews, there are a fair number of RFEs for that information, as well.

Well, so far no response on the service request (big suprise) but someone keeps touching our long ago approved EAD! Was touched on 2/10 and was touched again today...maybe someone is just inexperienced and doesn't know how to touch us in the right places
