I have some new information that might be interesting to know for some others out there as well:

As you know, my AOS was transfered to CSC on May 23, and nothing has happened since then (except for 2 "touches", the last one on August 16). So finally I called the (mis-)information hotline which actually did have some useful information for me.

Regarding the "projected processing time", the recording said:

"Please allow 180 days from the date of the transfer".

In other words, if nothing has happened by the end of next month, I am actually allowed to call and ask what's holding them up

I know that most of the "CSC-transfer"-people here are being approved way faster than in 180 days, but I hadn't read anywhere before that the "projected processing time" for CSC actually is 180 days, so I thought maybe someone here might like to know it

So wish me luck.....if nothing happens with my case till then, at least I'll be able to call on November 19th and raise hell

The "last updated" date changes in your online account at uscis.gov, but the status doesn't change.

Hi Sarachid,

You can tell by going to the USCIS website and seeing if the date has change since you last saw it. Have you sign-in to the USCIS website? If not do so, so that you can check on your status and you can sign up to receive e-mail notification.

I gather you haven't had any updates on your case since they received your RFE info ... I hope you hear good news soon ...

I just checked USPS and the tracking is telling me CSC received my RFE today so it will be intresting if it takes about 2 days (like it did for you) for them to acknowledge that they received it ...

I really thought that they would be able to tell me something after the 180 days ?

I mean, EVERYBODY else on the CSC lists is getting approved after just a short while (except for Chocolaterie, but her case was transfered back from the CSC to another center, so I guess that doesn't really count for CSCs anymore). But look at the lists.....I am the only one who filed this early (March) and hasn't heard ANYTHING. Surely they should be able to say/do something after 6 months if everyone else gets approved within 2 weeks-3 months....??

you can actually call now instead of waiting the full 180 days -- i called them last week and i was told to wait out the 60 days from the last paper notice, not 180 (for AOS -- for the EAD it IS 180)

i hope they'll be able to do something for you, definitely ask for someone higher up if the phone rep tells you to wait some more...you've waited long enough if it's been 6 months

anyhow, goodluck! you'll most likely be on hold for at least 15 mins, just be patient
